The event

The exhibition stages the meeting between photographer Lorenzo Capellini and writer Goffredo Parise, a dialogue of images and words born of a shared sensibility and a long friendship. Capellini's eye gives shape to Parise's Veneto, the «homeland» the writer loved, in a project that links photography and literature.

The starting point is the book «Veneto barbaro di muschi e nebbie», first published in 1987 and enriched over the years with new stories, up to the latest edition published in 2024 by Minerva Edizioni. Capellini's photographs are now held in the Historical Archive - International Center for Research on Contemporary Arts of the Venice Biennale.

The evening in the theater remembers Parise through the voices of writers, intellectuals and friends: Edoardo Albinati, Lorenzo Capellini, Dacia Maraini, Silvio Perrella, Elisabetta Rasy, Debora Rossi and Emanuele Trevi take part, with readings by Alexandria La Capria; Marina Valensise moderates. The program is in Italian and is produced by Teatro di Roma - Teatro Nazionale, in collaboration with the Biennale's Historical Archive.
