A Roman comedian who has just won LOL, a Roman singer-songwriter who has written the songs of half a generation of talent-show singers, married since 2023, on stage together telling the story of their own couple. Put like that, it's a TV formula. In the theater it becomes something else, because the couple is real and the audience knows it. The verdict is clear: it's the right show for anyone who wants to take their partner to the theater without making them dread a heavy evening.

The season
The show is part of Teatro Olimpico's 2026/2027 season, between Federico Buffa with Number 23, dedicated to Michael Jordan, and Chiara Francini with Coppia aperta quasi spalancata, which comes two days later. Three evenings in a row dedicated, in different ways, to relationships and their myths.
Io Marte Tu Mercole: what it's about
In Io Marte Tu Mercole Gianluca "Scintilla" Fubelli and Federica Camba bring their real relationship to the stage, made of complicity, differences, melodies and laughter: this is the official presentation by Teatro Olimpico.
Two planets
She is unpredictable, he is explosive. She is deep, he is direct. She talks, he listens. Then she talks again, and he maybe listens. Then he stopped listening a good while ago. The theater's presentation builds the show on this descending scale, which anyone who has lived as a couple recognizes at first pass.
Sketches, stories, songs
The show alternates sketches and stories, a pinch and a caress. The melodies are not a detail: Federica Camba is a singer-songwriter, and the music comes on stage as the third character of the couple. The comedian makes people laugh, the singer-songwriter makes them sing, and the two roles swap more often than the audience expects.
The big questions
Who is right? Who was wrong? Who left the toothpaste open? And above all: who said that to understand each other you have to be the same? These are the questions the theater lines up, and the last one is the show's thesis: relationships are everything and the opposite of everything, short circuits between distant planets.
The title and the R-Evolution
The title plays on the cliché that has men from Mars and women from Venus, and bends it into an affectionate Roman dialect: io Marte, tu Mercole. Wednesday, Mercury's day, is also the day of the Rome date. In the Rome program the title is enriched with the word R-Evolution, next to the one with which the couple toured Italy in the 2025/2026 season: revolution and evolution, which in a couple are often the same thing.
Who is Gianluca "Scintilla" Fubelli: biography
Gianluca Fubelli, known as Scintilla, was born in Rome on April 9, 1973, and is an actor, comedian and TV host. A longtime face of Colorado on Italia 1, in 2026 he won the sixth season of LOL, Chi ride è fuori, beating Carlo Amleto in the final.
From dental technician to the holiday villages
Until age 22 Fubelli worked as a dental technician. Then came tourist entertainment: from 1996 to 1999 he worked in holiday villages, where he tested his skills as actor, improviser and entertainer and met many of the colleagues he would work with later, among them Massimo Frabotta, known as Renè. It is the same school that produced many Italian comedians of his generation: a different audience every week, no safety net.
I Turbolenti
From 1998 to 2013 he was part of the comedy group I Turbolenti, with whom he won several awards and took part in many broadcasts. With Gianluca Impastato and the other members he signed theater shows such as Gli Artificieri in 2004, Uno è di troppo in 2005 and 2006, Siamo poveri di mezzi in 2008. With Impastato he also staged Una settimana da due.
Colorado
Scintilla's name is tied to Colorado, on Italia 1, where he appeared from 2003 to 2019, first as a comedian and then as co-host: in 2017 alongside Paolo Ruffini and Federica Nargi, in 2019 again with Ruffini and with Belén Rodríguez. He is co-lead in Tutto molto bello, Ruffini's 2014 film.
Hosting
From December 2016 to June 2017 he hosted House of Gag on TV8 with Omar Fantini, with whom he then launched House of Web on Facebook. The program returned in 2023 on Cielo. Over the years he took part in Enjoy, Ridere fa bene in 2020, Back to School in 2022 and 2023, Enrico Papi's Big Show, Only Fun on Nove from 2023, Comedy Match. In 2025 he is a contestant on Pechino Express with Federica Camba and on Freeze on Rai 2. In 2026 he is co-host of The Unknown, Fino all'ultimo bivio, on Rai 2.
Film and books
In film he is seen in Eccezzziunale veramente, capitolo secondo... me by Carlo Vanzina in 2006, with Diego Abatantuono, in L'ultimo crodino, in Area Paradiso directed by Abatantuono and Armando Trivellini. In 2011 he published a comic book on Julius Caesar. Among the curiosities of his theater résumé is a 2006 production of Mozart's The Magic Flute, with dialogues by Alessandro Baricco and direction by the Lithuanian Oskaras Koršunovas.
LOL 2026
In 2026 he takes part in the sixth season of LOL, Chi ride è fuori, on Prime Video, the program in which comedians must resist laughing, and wins it in the final against Carlo Amleto. For a comedian who built his career on his face and his explosiveness, winning by holding back is the best-landed joke.
Who is Federica Camba: biography
Federica Camba, whose registered name is Federica Fratoni, was born in Rome on July 14, 1974, and is a singer-songwriter, record producer and composer. She has written songs for Laura Pausini, Alessandra Amoroso, Emma, Nek, Marco Masini, Annalisa, Gianni Morandi, Umberto Tozzi, Max Gazzè and Elodie.
Rome, Cagliari, Milan
Born in Rome, at 12 she moved with her family to Cagliari. Then she went to Milan, where she began performing in small concerts. She has always cultivated two passions, music and acting, and alternates singing, writing and theater: Io Marte Tu Mercole, after all, is the meeting point of the two.
Pausini, Tozzi, Morandi
In 2000 Laura Pausini recorded two of her songs, Jenny and Anche se non mi vuoi, written with Giuseppe Dati, for the album Tra te e il mare. In 2002 she wrote Angelita and E non volo for Umberto Tozzi. In 2005 she was co-starring actress and singer in Gianni Morandi's theater tour, and for Morandi she wrote Grazie a tutti, which in 2010 won her the Premio Lunezia Pop with Morandi and Daniele Coro.
The talent show era
From 2008 she wrote and produced for Alessandra Amoroso: among hers are Stupida, Immobile, Estranei a partire da ieri and Stupendo fino a qui. She wrote for Emma, Marco Carta, Valerio Scanu, Annalisa, Nek, for whom she signed Congiunzione astrale. She is the author of an important part of the Italian pop music born from talent shows between 2009 and 2016.
The album and the awards
In January 2010 she released her first album, Magari or no, with Peppe Vessicchio conducting the strings. In the same year she received the FIMI-PMI-AFI award for young artists at the Arena di Verona, during the Wind Music Awards. In 2013 her second album, Buonanotte sognatori, came out. In 2012 she founded with Daniele Coro the Unopiùunofamille, a label and publishing house. In 2020 she founded La Nina, a music publishing company.
Sanremo, Amici, Pechino Express
In 2020 she is at Sanremo as author of Il confronto, sung by Marco Masini and written with Daniele Coro and Masini himself. In 2021 she signed Considerando for Max Gazzè and Storia del mio corpo for Michele Bravi. In 2023 Un milione di piccole tempeste for Gianni Morandi. In 2023 she is a singing judge on Maria De Filippi's Amici. In 2025 she takes part in Pechino Express with her husband, forming the couple the Spettacolari, and since November of the same year she has been touring with him in Io Marte Tu Mercole.
Scintilla and Federica Camba, the couple on stage
Gianluca Fubelli and Federica Camba married in 2023: Io Marte Tu Mercole is the show in which their real couple becomes comic and musical material.
From Pechino Express to the theater
The general public saw them together for the first time as a competing couple on Pechino Express, in 2025. The travel reality show tests couples in extreme conditions. The stage show does the opposite, and tests them in the everyday life of the open toothpaste. The step from one to the other is natural.
Two Romans
They were both born in Rome, a year apart. Olimpico date is therefore a home date, for both. The Roman audience has a particular complicity with those who speak its language, and a title like Io Marte Tu Mercole, with that trattoria-table wordplay, arrives here sooner than elsewhere.
Why it works
Couple comedy is an old genre, from revue theater to television variety. It works when the two roles are clear-cut, and here they are: the explosive comedian and the reflective musician. But it really works only when the audience believes in the couple, and that is the advantage no script can give.
Teatro Olimpico, the hall of Io Marte Tu Mercole
Teatro Olimpico in Piazza Gentile da Fabriano has been active as a movie theater since 1936 and as a theater since 1981, and has 1,410 seats, 966 in the orchestra and 444 in the gallery. The entry for the venue is Teatro Olimpico.
From cinema to theater
The building was constructed between 1935 and 1936 for the Società Generale Immobiliare, in the same years in which Flaminio and Foro Italico were taking shape. Until the 1950s it worked mainly as a movie theater, with pre-show variety acts in the intervals: comedians and music between one film and the next, exactly the formula of Io Marte Tu Mercole.
The amphitheater orchestra
The 966 orchestra seats are sloped: whoever sits in the back rows sees over the heads of those in front. The gallery, which in the ticket office corresponds to the balcony, is horseshoe-shaped. The stage measures about 10 meters deep by 12 wide.
The architecture
The building is made of reinforced concrete, with travertine in the base and the cornices, brought back to its original look by a recent restoration. Inside are a round foyer and wide corridors. The theater cites a judgment attributed to Orson Welles, according to which Olimpico would be the only place in Rome able to recall the atmosphere of Broadway theaters.
Where to sit for Io Marte Tu Mercole
For a couple show with music, the best seats at Olimpico are in the central orchestra, between poltronissima gold and poltrona: you see the faces, you hear the voice without the distance of the gallery.
Poltronissima and poltrona
The poltronissima gold costs €30 plus €4.50 presale, the poltrona €27 plus €4.10: the difference is a few euros. Thanks to the slope of the orchestra, the poltrona offers a clean view even from the back rows. It is the section with the best ratio between price and view.
The balcony
The central balcony, at €25 plus presale, is fine for a group that wants to spend less. The side sections and those with a railing, €20 to €22, have reduced visibility: for a spoken show they weigh less than for a musical, but they weigh.
How to get to Teatro Olimpico for Io Marte Tu Mercole
You get to Teatro Olimpico by Metro Line A to Flaminio and tram 2 to the terminus at Piazza Mancini, from where it is about 500 meters on foot: this is the route indicated by the theater.
Metro Line A and tram 2
From Flaminio station you take tram 2 to Piazza Mancini, then walk along Viale del Pinturicchio to Piazza Gentile da Fabriano, five minutes on foot. From Termini the scheme is the same: Metro Line A, change at Flaminio.
Bus
The lines with a stop near the theater are 220, 232, 233, 280, 301, 446, 48, 910 and 911. The 910 leaves Termini: you get off at the Pannini stop and walk about 300 meters. Lines 200, 201, 53 and the night line n24 also arrive at Piazza Mancini.
By car
From the center you take Viale del Muro Torto toward Piazzale Flaminio and then the lungotevere roads. From the north you cross Ponte Duca d'Aosta. On Wednesday night parking is less difficult than on the weekend, but Flaminio remains a residential neighborhood: leave early.
A curiosity about Io Marte Tu Mercole with Scintilla and Federica Camba at Teatro Olimpico, March 10, 2027
The tastiest curiosity is in the calendar. A show called Io Marte Tu Mercole is on in Rome on a Wednesday, the day named after Mercury, and the day before, Tuesday, bears the name of Mars. Intended or not, the wordplay holds: the Rome evening falls exactly on her planet.
The second curiosity concerns Scintilla and LOL. In 2026 Fubelli won the sixth season of the Prime Video program in which 10 comedians, locked in a room, must make the others laugh without ever laughing. For a comedian who made his explosive face his trademark, winning with a stone face is a small paradox. At Olimpico, luckily, the rules are the opposite: the audience has to laugh, and he can laugh with them.
The third concerns Federica Camba. Many spectators who will see her on stage as Scintilla's wife don't know they have sung her songs in the shower: Stupida and Immobile by Alessandra Amoroso, Jenny by Laura Pausini, Grazie a tutti by Gianni Morandi, Il confronto by Marco Masini at Sanremo 2020. She is one of the most prolific authors of Italian pop of the last 20 years, and in this show for once you see her in front of the microphone, not behind it.
Something nobody tells you about Io Marte Tu Mercole with Scintilla and Federica Camba at Teatro Olimpico, March 10, 2027
What almost nobody says is that Io Marte Tu Mercole is a show to see as a couple, but not with just any couple. It works best with people who have been together a few years, when the open toothpaste has already become a matter of principle. Young couples will laugh. Couples of long standing will nudge each other at every joke, and on the way home they will continue the argument. It is the sign that the show hit the mark.
The second thing concerns the running time. The theater lists the end at 22:00: just under an hour and a half, without the marathon of certain comedy shows that run on toward midnight. On a Wednesday, with the alarm clock on Thursday morning, it is a concrete advantage. You can have dinner afterward, calmly, without staying out late.
The third is practical: on a March Wednesday Olimpico audience is mostly Roman. There is no weekend flow of tourists and out-of-town spectators, and the hall has a more intimate atmosphere, almost a neighborhood one. For a show about domestic life it is the right atmosphere.
My advice for seeing Io Marte Tu Mercole with Scintilla and Federica Camba at Teatro Olimpico, March 10, 2027
Choose the poltrona, not the poltronissima. At €27 plus €4.10 presale, Olimpico's poltrona, thanks to the slope of the orchestra, guarantees a clean view even from the back rows, and costs €3.40 less than the poltronissima gold with the presale fee included. For two people, the difference pays for a coffee after the show.
Second piece of advice: do the full math. With presale and online fee, a poltrona ticket costs €32.60 in all, a poltronissima gold ticket €36, a balcony ticket €30.30. Buying at the box office avoids the online fee: if you live in Flaminio or pass through, it is the cheapest choice.
Third: eat dinner after, not before. With the end at 22:00 you get to Ponte Milvio or a Flaminio restaurant at a quarter past 10, a time still normal in Rome even on a Wednesday. And at the table, with the show just seen, the couple's conversation writes itself.
Another well-known fact, yet rarely mentioned
Teatro Olimpico doesn't belong to a public body or a big group: it belongs to a joint-stock company born in 1980 from a subscription by citizens. Many people in Rome know it, but it is rarely recalled.
At the end of the 1970s the hall risked disappearing. The company that owned it and the film body that ran it had gone bankrupt, and the building was for sale. Adriana Panni, president of the Accademia Filarmonica Romana, promoted a fundraising among professionals, entrepreneurs, intellectuals and enthusiasts. Teatro Olimpico spa was born, and in 1980 bought the building from the Società Generale Immobiliare. Panni was its president until 1994.
The consequence shows in the program. A private theater that has to stand on its own needs full houses, and this explains the opening, from 1981, to big-draw comedy, international dance and popular music, alongside the Filarmonica's concerts. In the 2009/2010 season, according to the Agis rankings, Olimpico was Rome's second theater and Italy's seventh by spectators. A show that mixes television comedy and singer-songwriter music, like Io Marte Tu Mercole, is a direct child of that choice.
The right photo to take of Io Marte Tu Mercole with Scintilla and Federica Camba at Teatro Olimpico, March 10, 2027
The right photo is taken as a couple, in Piazza Gentile da Fabriano, with Olimpico's lit-up façade and the show's title on the billboard. It is a show about the couple, and the couple in front of the theater is the image that tells it best. The 1930s building, with its high travertine base, has a rationalist sobriety that looks good at night even with a phone.
For those who like the game of the title there is another possible photo: the two tickets held in hand, one for Marte and one for Mercole, with the Wednesday date clearly in view. It's silly, but it's the one you'll send to your friends the same evening.
A third shot is taken from Ponte della Musica, a few steps from the theater: the Tiber at night, Lungotevere Flaminio on one side and Foro Italico on the other. During the show, instead, the phone stays off: comedy lives on surprise, and every stolen video uses up a joke for whoever comes after.
Some important events that happened here in history
On March 4, 1965, Pierre Boulez conducted at Teatro Olimpico a concert with the Italian premiere of Igor Stravinsky's Abraham and Isaac and the European premiere of his Elegy for J.F.K. It is perhaps the most important date in the hall's musical history, and it says what weight the Accademia Filarmonica Romana had in the cultural life of those years.
In the following years Olimpico hosted stagings in which art and music met: Stravinsky's L'Histoire du soldat in October 1966, with the backdrop by Giacomo Manzù. Niccolò Castiglioni's Tre misteri in 1968, with Mirko's sculpture. Stravinsky's Mass in 1975, with Corrado Cagli's golden shapes.
1980 is the turning-point year: Teatro Olimpico spa is born, which buys the building. From 1981 the hall changes name and calling. Moses Pendleton's Momix make their debut at Olimpico in April 1982 and become regular guests, so much so that in the same season as Io Marte Tu Mercole they return with Botanica, until March 7, 2027. Mikhail Baryshnikov arrives with the White Oak Dance Project in 1995, the Bolshoi Ballet in 1996. In May 1996 Gigi Proietti brings A me gli occhi here, one of the monologues that made the history of Roman comic theater: the model to which every Roman comedian, Scintilla included, owes something.
Who has passed through: Io Marte Tu Mercole with Scintilla and Federica Camba at Teatro Olimpico, March 10, 2027
Musicians like Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli, Jessye Norman, Zubin Mehta, Giuseppe Sinopoli and Pierre Boulez, tied to the Accademia Filarmonica Romana season, have passed through the stage of Teatro Olimpico, along with the dance of Baryshnikov, Joaquín Cortés, Lindsay Kemp, Maurice Béjart, the Bolshoi and the Momix, and the songs of Lucio Dalla, the Pooh, Giorgio Gaber. Among the protagonists of its history the theater also cites Dario Fo and Nicola Piovani.
And then the comedy: Gigi Proietti, Enrico Brignano, Vincenzo Salemme, Aldo, Giovanni e Giacomo, Neri Marcorè, Ale e Franz, Gioele Dix, Cinzia Leone, Lillo e Greg, Max Giusti, Maurizio Battista, who in the 2026/2027 season returns with Se non vinco... imparo. In the same season come Angelo Pintus with Loro non sanno niente and Giorgia Fumo with Out Of Office.
In the list of Olimpico's comedians, couples and groups are many: Ale e Franz, Lillo e Greg, Aldo, Giovanni e Giacomo. Duo comedy is a tradition of light theater, and Scintilla knows it well from the years of the Turbolenti. Io Marte Tu Mercole renews it in a different form: a real couple, with a singer-songwriter in place of the comic sidekick.
Flaminio around Teatro Olimpico
Teatro Olimpico is in the Flaminio neighborhood, at the height of Ponte della Musica, in an area that also hosts Auditorium Parco della Musica and the MAXXI.
Foro Italico
Beyond Ponte della Musica, on the other bank, is Foro Italico, built in the same years as Olimpico. A walk before the show lets you read two 1930s architectures together.
Milvian Bridge
Going up the river you reach Milvian Bridge, with the square full of places: on a Wednesday it is busy but not crowded, and it is the most convenient choice for after the theater.
Toward the center
Along Via Flaminia you reach the edge of Villa Borghese and then Piazza del Popolo, a quarter of an hour by tram.
Where to eat before or after Io Marte Tu Mercole
Around Teatro Olimpico, between Piazza Mancini, Via Flaminia and Piazza Gentile da Fabriano, there are pizzerias, trattorias and bars frequented by the audience of the theater and the Auditorium. With the start at 20:30 and the end around 22:00, there are two strategies: a quick dinner around 19:00, or an aperitivo before and dinner after. For a couple the second is the best. Ponte Milvio, a few minutes away, has the widest offering even on weekdays. In Flaminio many restaurants stay open late for the concert audience. Book anyway, and pick a table for two away from the television: after a show about couples, you'll have things to talk about.
Accessibility at Teatro Olimpico
Anyone with reduced mobility needs who wants to see Io Marte Tu Mercole at Teatro Olimpico should contact the box office before buying, at biglietti@teatroolimpico.it, to learn which seats are suitable and how to access the hall.
The hall
The orchestra is sloped and the gallery is on the upper floor: these are elements to consider when choosing the section. If you have hearing difficulties, choose the central orchestra.
With kids
The theater lists no age limits. The themes are those of adult couple life, handled lightly. A teenager will have fun, a small child less so. Scintilla's fans from the Colorado days are often kids who grew up with that program, and for them it's a chance to see him live.
