On Saturday, November 14, 2026 Bee Bee Sea from Castel Goffredo and the Rome-based Poo Poo Talks, two egg punk bands, play at 30 Formiche, at via del Mandrione 3 in Rome. Only ARCI members can get in, and a card is required. As for start time and cost, the club says nothing.
The night lines up two bands from the Italian garage punk scene. Bee Bee Sea come from Castel Goffredo, in the Po Valley plain, and bring the album «Stanzini can be allright», released by Wild Honey Records. The title is a tribute to the Gizmos song «Midwest can be allright», and even the logo reimagines one of the American band's lesser-known logos. The starting idea is a parallel: growing up in an isolated place, with cold, foggy winters, blazing summers and far from cultural centers, can resemble the Midwest experience.
From this came Stanzini, a musical collective that grew out of a garage turned into a rehearsal space. The record has twelve tracks that tell stories of people and places. It is still garage rock, but it widens out: there are traces of egg punk, Guided By Voices, Sweeping Promises and The Cleaners from Venus, with plenty of melodies and plenty of riffs. The band describes it as a diary of life in a place that may not be extraordinary but «can be allright» if you set out to change it.
Poo Poo Talks, from Rome, have a sharper edge. They start from the absurdity of egg punk and build their music on repetition, immediacy and a rejection of good taste; they call themselves «poo poo music for pee pee people». The line between joke and intent is deliberately blurred, DIY is an identity and humor is a form of disruption.
