The event

Al Doum and The Faryds are a Milan-based ensemble formed in 2010, bringing together musicians from different backgrounds: punk, jazz, rock and free improvisation. The music blends afro and modal jazz, psychedelic rock and tribal grooves, with ethnic instruments that create unexpected textures and a collective, hypnotic, almost trance-like sound. Rhythms, voices and horns work as a single organism. The lineup now counts ten members: drums, percussion, horns, vocals, guitar and bass.

The group has always chosen self-management. Their records are made at Guscio Studio in Milan, run by guitarist Lorenzo Farolfi, with analog techniques and a communal production process; they are pressed and distributed by Black Sweat Records, the independent label founded by bassist and singer Davide Domenichini, with some releases co-published with La Tempesta. The visual identity is also developed in-house, from videos to the light shows that accompany the concerts.

In 2026 the band releases «Ipnagogico», a new chapter that deepens the ritual and visionary side of the project, through collective trance, layered rhythms and cosmic openings.

On its own channels 30 Formiche describes itself as a space for independent music and visual arts, with nights it calls «storte», meaning crooked.
