At Teatro India (Lungotevere Vittorio Gassman 1, Rome), from Friday, November 27 to Sunday, November 29, 2026, you can see «Pinocchia», a show freely adapted from Carlo Collodi and directed by Roberto Gandini. It is a performance showcase by the Laboratorio Teatrale Integrato Piero Gabrielli.
Nineteen actors, with and without disabilities, take the stage, accompanied by live music. The show marks the bicentennial of Carlo Collodi's birth and offers a female reading: Pinocchia is a wooden teenager who rejects school and work, wants to run away, and looks for a place to belong and an identity of her own.
Her journey leads her to meet the puppets, to a relationship with Lucignolo, and to trials that bring suffering and transformation. At the center are the identity of young people and the value of diversity. Teatro di Roma does not give a recommended age.
Where it takes place: Teatro India
Together with Teatro Argentina and Teatro Torlonia, Teatro India answers to the Fondazione Teatro di Roma. To get there: Lungotevere Vittorio Gassman 1, or Via Luigi Pierantoni 6 for the second entrance.
