Two women on stage, a generational clash in reverse. Where the woman born at the beginning of the century proves more modern and emancipated than our contemporary.
An impossible meeting, between a grandmother and granddaughter who have become the same age. A meeting allowed in the territory where everything is possible: the dream. A comparison between two cultures and two societies. A society that should grow and improve in fundamental human rights but that leaves some doubts for the woman who has witnessed the whole of the last century and the present one. The main theme of the clash between the two women is violence against women, experienced differently by the two women. Understood by the grandmother when it was by then too late and instead denied by the granddaughter.
Making this clash more heartfelt are the family ties, hidden at first but then revealed, and the presence in spirit of the daughter of one and mother of the other, as the connecting link. Another presence, though not on stage, is, respectively, the daughter and great-granddaughter who risks repeating the spiral of violence experienced by her mother and great-grandmother.
Will the granddaughter wake from this dream with a new awareness and decide to act to correct her life, or will she consider this meeting the product of a sick fantasy?

Where it takes place: Teatro dei Contrari

The program of Teatro dei Contrari isn't limited to drama: the website lists concerts, a music salon with afternoons of listening and discussion, music for the theater, screenings with a film club archive, talks and exhibitions. The 2025/2026 season is described as «Stagione dei Contrari».

The space is on Viale dei Quattro Venti, a street Pasolini recalls in Ragazzi di vita as a cut «deep as a stream» around which Monteverde spreads out. At the end of the avenue, inside the park of Villa Doria Pamphilj, stands the Arco dei Quattro Venti, built between 1856 and 1859: the park is covered on the page Villa Doria Pamphilj.
