Official presentation of Antonio e Patrizia Marras
«Come nasce un abito, un gioiello?»
Text from the official Cultura Roma Capitale page (service translation: “How is a dress, a jewel born?”), source
The question the presentation starts from concerns the work of those who design fashion: how a designer's aesthetic is reconciled with the wishes of those who buy, and how to face the challenges of international markets and sustainability. Answering are two creatives, Antonio and Patrizia Marras, in conversation with Chiara Beghelli, a journalist of Il Sole 24 Ore.
The two guests are partners in life and in their passion for the more artistic side of fashion, and both are from Alghero, a city they remain very attached to. Since the 1990s they have built an aesthetic vision made of nostalgia, desire and research, which takes shape in the creations of Antonio: clothes, but also drawings, sculptures, design objects, films and theater sets. Their creations are now found from Milan to Venice to New York.
The lesson with Antonio e Patrizia Marras is part of the series Lezioni di Creatività Contemporanea 2026, curated by Fondazione Musica per Roma and produced in collaboration with the Fondazione De Sanctis.
