Totalmente incompatibili, Nuzzo and Di Biase at Teatro Sistina, January 22-24, 2027
Corrado Nuzzo and Maria Di Biase bring Totalmente incompatibili (Totally Incompatible) to the Teatro Sistina, at Via Sistina 129 (00187 Rome), for three performances: Friday, January 22 and Saturday, January 23, 2027 at 8:30 p.m., Sunday, January 24 at 4:00 p.m. It is the show the two comedians also wrote, produced by Agidi and Nido di Ragno and presented in Rome by Ventidieci. The prices published by the Sistina are 53 euros in poltronissima, 46 in poltrona and in the first gallery, 42 in the second gallery and 38 in the third gallery. Tickets are bought on the Sistina's official website, in the online ticket office linked to the show's page, or at the theater's box office. The Sistina is a few steps from Piazza Barberini, served by metro line A, Barberini stop.
Language: performed in Italian. No English version or English surtitles are announced.

At odds with each other, at odds with the world, happily unadaptable: this is how the Sistina presents the couple who have worked together for over 20 years, onstage and in life. For Nuzzo and Di Biase neither the proverb “birds of a feather flock together” nor the one about opposites attracting holds. Totalmente incompatibili is their return to a theater written by themselves, after two sold-out seasons with Ionesco's Delirio a due (Exit the King, literally Delirium for Two), and it is born from their life as a couple and from the curious observation of other people's.

The tour
Totalmente incompatibili debuted in 2026. According to the presentation on the Sistina's official ticket office, the tour has had a great response from audiences, with almost all performances sold out across more than 50 scheduled dates.
Totalmente incompatibili: what it is about
Totalmente incompatibili is a comedy written and performed by Corrado Nuzzo and Maria Di Biase that takes its cue from their life, including as a couple, and from the ironic observation of other people's.
Two outsiders
Nothing unites them and everything drives them apart, says the presentation, yet for many years they have kept on being together in life and onstage. Because they love differences, because they feel like fish out of water, because they are outsiders, and, the text adds with self-irony, because with their discomfort they bill.
An empirical method
With an established empirical method, the two set out to codify the present together with the audience, reducing to a minimum the comparison with the past and the fear of the future. Victims themselves of digital incivility, which simplifies content, indulges laziness and weakens memory, they try to favor analysis over judgment and to tell of the disasters they see around them.
Laughing at everything?
Aware that you cannot laugh at everything and everyone, they remain convinced they must try all the way. The show's final question is if they will find a point of agreement or remain totally incompatible, the answer, the production promises, is discovered only in the theater.
Who Nuzzo and Di Biase are
Corrado Nuzzo and Maria Di Biase have worked as a pair for more than 20 years and have built a very personal comic style, founded on a surreal language that has become their trademark, able to bring the general public and critics into agreement.
Mai dire and Zelig
Their shared television career began in 2004 with several editions of Mai dire by the Gialappa's Band. From 2010 to 2022 they were in the regular cast of Zelig. At Rai they took part from 2013 in three editions of Quelli che il calcio with Nicola Savino.
Guests everywhere
Over the years they have been guests on many programs: Amici on Canale 5, I migliori anni on Rai 1, Stasera c'è Cattelan, Boomerissima and Improvviserai on Rai 2, Uà, uomo di varietà on Canale 5, Lui è peggio di me (He Is Worse Than Me) on Rai 3. In 2023 they were authors and hosts, with Francesco De Carlo, of the comedy talk show Pour parler on Rai 2, in 2025 they took part in R.I.P. Roast in peace on Prime Video.
Maria Di Biase
Maria Di Biase is the lead of four Amazon productions: Lol 2, Lol Christmas, Prova prova sa sa and Lol Talent. Since 2024 she has been in the regular cast of Comedy Match on Nove. In film, after her 2009 debut with Ficarra and Picone in La matassa, she acted in Amici come noi, Gli ultimi saranno ultimi, Che vuoi che sia, Arrivano i prof, Bene ma non benissimo, Odio l'estate, Blablababy and Tramite amicizia.
Corrado Nuzzo
Corrado Nuzzo is in the cast of Michela Andreozzi's Una gran voglia di vivere (A Great Desire to Live), produced for Amazon in 2023, and of the TV drama Lolita Lo Bosco. Besides their work as a pair, both take part individually in several films: a double career that, in the theater, adds up again in a single show.
Film as a pair
As a pair they made their film debut in 2011 in Ficarra and Picone's Anche se è amore non si vede (Even If It's Love It Doesn't Show), in 2016 they acted in Tiramisù, directed by and starring Fabio De Luigi. In 2018 came their first feature as directors, Vengo anch'io (I'm Coming Too), a road comedy distributed by Medusa, which they directed and wrote.
Radio
For 17 years they were authors and hosts of Black Out, Enrico Vaime's historic program on Rai Radio2, and for eight years they hosted the afternoon show Numeri uni, also on Radio2.
Theater
Theater remains their first love, from the classics to contemporary authors, from recital to comedy. Since 2023, for two seasons, they have sold out with Eugène Ionesco's Delirio a due, directed by Giorgio Gallione: over 100 performances, according to the production.
The style of Nuzzo and Di Biase: surreal, as a couple, in words
The comic style of Nuzzo and Di Biase is defined by their own production as a surreal language that has become a trademark, able to hold together popular success and critical appreciation.
The couple as material
The starting point is always the couple: two people who resemble each other in nothing and who for this very reason never stop talking. In Totalmente incompatibili the material is openly autobiographical, but the presentation immediately widens its gaze to the curious observation of other people's lives. The audience, in our view, will recognize more than one argument from their own home.
From radio to stage
A comedy built for years on the radio, between Black Out and Numeri uni, lives on timing, pauses and words. On the Sistina stage that precision adds to physical presence, to mime, to the play of glances between two performers who know each other by heart.
The digital present
The theme running through the show is digital incivility, which simplifies content and weakens memory. It is a common target, but the couple's declared choice is to favor analysis over judgment: observe before condemning, and laugh at yourself before others.
A curiosity about Totalmente incompatibili, Nuzzo and Di Biase at Teatro Sistina, January 22-24, 2027
The tastiest curiosity is in the presentation text, written with the same irony as the show: Nuzzo and Di Biase are supposedly together, onstage and in life, because they love differences, because they are outsiders and, above all, because with their discomfort they bill. It is rare for a production to state so frankly the economic engine of a comic couple, and the tone already says a lot about the kind of comedy awaiting the Sistina audience.
The second curiosity concerns Delirio a due, the previous show. Before returning to a text of their own, the comic couple raised between Mai dire and Zelig chose to take on Eugène Ionesco, the theater of the absurd and Giorgio Gallione's direction, and filled theaters for two seasons. Totalmente incompatibili comes after that test, and in our view bears its mark: the same attention to language that jams, applied to today's life.
The third is about radio. For 17 years the two were authors and voices of Black Out, Enrico Vaime's historic program on Rai Radio2. A comedy born on the radio, made of timing and words, finds in the Sistina, the home of Garinei and Giovannini, a stage that has lived on punchlines and rhythm for 70 years.
The fourth concerns film: their first film as directors, Vengo anch'io, is a road movie. Two comedians who call themselves incompatible chose, for their debut behind the camera, the genre that forces characters to share the same space for days.
Teatro Sistina, the home of musical comedy
Teatro Sistina, at Via Sistina 129, was inaugurated on December 28, 1949 to a design by Marcello Piacentini and is one of the most important private theaters in Italy, with 1,015 seats in the orchestra and 566 in the gallery. The American magazine Variety called it the Italian answer to Broadway.
A hall without columns
The hall is semicircular, 28 meters wide and 30 deep, without columns: from every seat you see the stage unobstructed. For a comedy of words, in which the two performers' mime counts as much as the lines, even the gallery remains a valid choice.
Where a church stood
The theater was built between 1946 and 1949 on the site of the church of Santa Francesca Romana, along what was called Strada Felice. The first film shown was Le mura di Malapaga (The Walls of Malapaga), the first revue Bada che ti mangio (Watch Out, I'll Eat You), with Totò and Isa Barzizza.
Garinei, Giovannini and Piparo
From 1960 to 2006 the theater was led by Garinei and Giovannini, the authors of Rugantino and Aggiungi un posto a tavola (Add a Place at the Table), since 2013 the artistic direction has been Massimo Romeo Piparo's. The full program is on the Sistina's official website.
Orchestra or gallery
With 1,015 seats in the orchestra and 566 in the gallery, the Sistina offers two different ways of seeing a two-person comedy. The orchestra puts you close to the performers, the gallery, split into three price levels, gives a frontal, orderly view of the whole stage. For a show without large sets, in which everything plays out between two people, the price difference between poltronissima and third gallery mostly buys closeness.
Something nobody tells you about Totalmente incompatibili, Nuzzo and Di Biase at Teatro Sistina, January 22-24, 2027
What is said little is that short runs at the Sistina sell out before long ones. A musical on the bill for weeks leaves time to choose, three performances over a weekend, with a couple who according to the production have filled almost all the tour dates, concentrate demand in a few days. Anyone with a specific evening in mind, especially Saturday, should buy early.
The second thing concerns the kind of comedy. Those who know Nuzzo and Di Biase only from Zelig television appearances or from the Lol videos expect a sequence of sketches. Totalmente incompatibili is instead a built theatrical show, written by them, in which the couple's quarrel becomes a tool for observing the present, from digital incivility to weakening memory. The rhythm is that of comedy, not cabaret.
The third thing is Sunday. The 4 p.m. performance is the most convenient for those coming from outside Rome and for those with kids, but it is also the one when the center is most crowded. Arriving early, in a theater of over 1,500 seats, means settling in calmly and not missing the first lines.
The advice I give you for visiting Totalmente incompatibili, Nuzzo and Di Biase at Teatro Sistina, January 22-24, 2027
The advice is to choose the performance according to your day's plan. Friday night is the choice of those who live in Rome and want to close the week with a laugh, Saturday night is the most requested performance, Sunday afternoon, at 4, leaves the evening free and lets you combine the show with a walk to the Pincio or Trinità dei Monti.
The second piece of advice concerns seats. With prices from 38 to 53 euros, the first gallery at 46 euros costs the same as the poltrona and offers a better overall view of a two-person comedy, where the play of glances between the performers counts. The poltronissima makes sense for those who want to see the expressions up close, the third gallery at 38 euros remains decent, because the hall has no columns.
The third piece of advice is to arrive on foot from above. Those with time should get off the metro at Spagna, climb the Trinità dei Monti steps and walk Via Sistina on the flat to number 129. For the way back, the Barberini metro is a few steps away.
Last piece of advice: review Delirio a due, if you saw it, or at least read its plot. The comparison between Ionesco's couple and the one written by Nuzzo and Di Biase is one of the hidden pleasures of the evening.
How to get to Teatro Sistina
Teatro Sistina is reached by metro line A, Barberini stop: from Piazza Barberini you go up Via Sistina and the theater is at number 129, a few minutes' walk away.
By metro
Line A connects Barberini to Termini in two stops. It is the simplest way to arrive and to return, even after the evening show.
On foot from the center
Via Sistina connects Piazza Barberini to Trinità dei Monti, at the top of the steps of Piazza di Spagna. Those in the center can climb the steps and walk the street on the flat.
By car
The Sistina is in the historic center, inside the ZTL: the car is not recommended. Those arriving from outside should leave it in a garage outside the limited traffic zone and continue by metro.
By taxi
For the evening exit a taxi is convenient for those who do not live near line A. Piazza Barberini is an easy pickup point to name.
Another well-known fact, yet rarely mentioned
That Rugantino and Aggiungi un posto a tavola were born at the Sistina almost everyone knows. Less remembered is that in the 1950s the theater risked becoming a cinema forever. Some film industrialists turned it into a Cinerama hall, with three projection booths and a screen 27 meters wide and 11 high. The experiment failed, and it went back to theater. Without that failure Italian musical comedy would have had another history.
The second fact concerns cinema inside the theater. Shortly after the inauguration, the finale of Totò cerca moglie (Totò Looks for a Wife) was shot at the Sistina: Totò and his fiancée take refuge in the theater, enter the hall and see their wedding scene on the screen. A comedy about life as a couple, filmed in this theater more than 70 years ago: Totalmente incompatibili, by other means, returns to the same theme.
The third fact concerns Nuzzo and Di Biase. It is known that they are a couple in life as well as onstage, it is mentioned less that they also long shared the radio microphone, between the 17 years of Black Out and the eight of Numeri uni on Radio2. A couple who learned to make people laugh with voice alone, before doing it with bodies onstage.
The right photo to take at Totalmente incompatibili, Nuzzo and Di Biase at Teatro Sistina, January 22-24, 2027
The Sistina photo is taken from the other side of Via Sistina, with the sign and the lit facade in the frame. In the evening, before the show, the entrance light and the crowd in front of the doors give the image of a living theater. It is best to take it on arrival: on the way out the street fills up.
For those going as a couple there is a photo on theme with the show: the two in front of the poster, each facing the opposite way, arms crossed, like two totally incompatible people. It is a parody of the classic couple photo, and in our view it is the most fitting souvenir of the evening.
The third photo is taken at Trinità dei Monti, at the end of Via Sistina, with the steps of Piazza di Spagna below you. With the Sunday afternoon performance you can shoot before going in, in the January light.
Inside, during the show, no photos or video: it is a theater rule and a form of respect toward the performers.
Some important events that took place here in history
On December 28, 1949 the Sistina opens as a cinema and theater. Shortly after, the first revue is staged, Bada che ti mangio (Watch Out, I'll Eat You), with Totò and Isa Barzizza. In October 1950 the curtain rises on La Bisarca (The Car Carrier) by Pietro Garinei and Sandro Giovannini: a partnership begins that will mark the history of Italian theater. On December 15, 1952 Attanasio cavallo vanesio (Attanasio the Vain Horse) debuts with Renato Rascel, the first of a trilogy of musical fables that opens the era of musical comedy.
In 1953, during a charity show, Sandro Giovannini sees Delia Scala dance a Charleston and decides she will be the lead of the new musical theater. After the Cinerama interlude, in 1960 the management passes to Garinei and Giovannini, who keep it until 2006, from 1977, after Giovannini's death, Garinei directs it alone. These are the years of Rugantino, Aggiungi un posto a tavola, Il giorno della tartaruga (The Day of the Tortoise), Un paio d'ali (A Pair of Wings), Alleluja brava gente (Hallelujah, Good People).
Since 2013 the artistic direction has been Massimo Romeo Piparo's, who brings the Sistina back to producing its own musicals: Jesus Christ Superstar, Mamma Mia!, Evita, Billy Elliot, School of Rock, Il marchese del Grillo, Cats, Matilda, West Side Story. Alongside musicals the theater hosts concerts and drama and comedy tours, like that of Totalmente incompatibili, which in January 2027 brings to this stage for one weekend two authors and performers who grew up between television, radio and theater.
Who has passed through Totalmente incompatibili, Nuzzo and Di Biase at Teatro Sistina, January 22-24, 2027
Through the Sistina stage have passed the big names of Italian entertainment, many of whom debuted here or were made famous here: Marcello Mastroianni, Renato Rascel, Delia Scala, Carlo Dapporto, Aldo Fabrizi, Walter Chiari, Gino Bramieri, Johnny Dorelli, Paolo Panelli, Bice Valori, Enrico Montesano, Gigi Proietti, Mariangela Melato, Sabrina Ferilli, Valerio Mastandrea, Massimo Ghini, Serena Autieri. And Totò, who opened its theater season.
Among the names that made the Sistina's history are also Paolo Panelli and Bice Valori, often onstage together. In the years of Piparo's direction the theater has hosted concerts by Massimo Ranieri, Ornella Vanoni, Renzo Arbore and Fiorello, and musicals with Lillo.
In the same 2026-2027 season the Sistina offers, among others, La sciantosa (The Chanteuse) with Serena Autieri, Mamma Mia! and Belle ripiene. Ideally, with Totalmente incompatibili, the names from the couple's career pass through the Sistina too: Ficarra and Picone, who took them to the movies, Enrico Vaime, with whom they worked on the radio, Ionesco and Giorgio Gallione, author and director of their previous show.
Via Sistina and the theater's surroundings
Teatro Sistina is between Piazza Barberini and Trinità dei Monti, in one of the most elegant areas of central Rome.
Piazza Barberini
At the foot of Via Sistina is Piazza Barberini, with Bernini's Triton Fountain. A little above, Palazzo Barberini houses the Galleria nazionale d'arte antica, opposite begins Via Veneto.
Trinità dei Monti and the Pincio
At the other end of Via Sistina you reach Trinità dei Monti and, continuing, the Pincio, with its terrace over Piazza del Popolo, and then Villa Borghese. For the Sunday afternoon performance, a walk on the Pincio in the morning is the ideal complement.
Toward Trevi
Going down from Piazza Barberini toward Via del Tritone you reach the Trevi Fountain in 10 minutes. In the evening, after the show, it is less crowded than by day.
How to plan the weekend of Totalmente incompatibili
With three performances between Friday and Sunday, Totalmente incompatibili lends itself to a Roman weekend built around the theater, between Piazza Barberini, Trinità dei Monti and the Pincio.
Friday or Saturday night
For the 8:30 p.m. performances it is wise to arrive in the area around 7:30, with time for an aperitivo or a light meal near Piazza Barberini, and reach the theater half an hour early.
Sunday afternoon
The 4 p.m. performance allows a morning at Villa Borghese or the Pincio, lunch in the center and the show in the afternoon, with the evening free for the trip home. It is the most convenient formula for those arriving from outside Rome for the day.
Tickets
The Sistina's online ticket office lists the three dates with prices starting from 38 euros. For a weekend with only three performances, buying a few weeks ahead is the prudent choice.
Where to eat before and after the show
The area between Piazza Barberini, Via Sistina and Piazza di Spagna has a wide offering of restaurants, trattorias and bars, with prices on average higher than in other neighborhoods.
Before 8:30 p.m.
With the start at 8:30 p.m. it is wise to eat something quick beforehand, or to have dinner afterward. Around Piazza Barberini and toward Via del Tritone you find bars and venues for a light meal.
After the show
The Sistina does not publish the show's running time, leaving the evening performances is in any case at a time suited to dinner after the theater, when many kitchens in the center are still open. Going down toward Trevi and the Pantheon the choice grows, those who want to spend less can move toward Monti.
Sunday
With the 4 p.m. performance you can have a relaxed lunch beforehand and an early dinner afterward. On Sundays the center is crowded: booking is prudent.
Accessibility and practical information
For accessibility needs and seats for wheelchair users the reference is the Teatro Sistina box office, to be contacted before buying.
Arriving on time
At the Sistina, as in all big theaters, latecomers enter only at set moments. In a two-person comedy, arriving late means missing the setup of the game between the characters.
With teens
Totalmente incompatibili is a comedy about life as a couple and the digital present, with the surreal humor audiences know from Zelig. The theater lists no age limits, in our view it suits adults and high-school kids, who will catch its references.
January in Rome
In late January Roman evenings are cold and sometimes rainy: an umbrella in your bag is useful for the climb up Via Sistina. It is also a month with fewer crowds than usual, good for pairing the show with a visit to the center.

Totalmente incompatibili brings to the Sistina, for a single weekend, a couple who in 20 years have gone through television, radio, film and theater without losing their surreal tone. The advice is to buy early, because three performances sell out fast, choose the first gallery for the overall view or the poltronissima for the expressions, arrive on foot from Trinità dei Monti, and, if possible, go as a pair. A show about couple incompatibility, in our view, is best enjoyed with someone to argue with on the way out.
