Official presentation of the Quatuor Ebène concert
«un percorso evolutivo»
Text from the official Cultura Roma Capitale page (service translation: “an evolutionary journey”), source
The program pairs three quartets from different periods: Op. 18 No. 1, Op. 74 known as «Delle arpe» (the Harp), and Op. 59 No. 3 «Razumovsky». The presentation describes the evening as an evolutionary journey that starts from the classical roots of the first quartet, a tribute to the lesson of Haydn and Mozart, and moves on to the architecture of Op. 74, whose nickname comes from its characteristic pizzicato passages.
The closing piece is Op. 59 No. 3, from the period the presentation calls heroic, in which the string quartet form is pushed toward almost symphonic breadth.
The cycle is a project of the Quatuor Ebène that looks ahead to the celebrations for the bicentenary of Beethoven's death, 1827-2027. This is the third concert. The fourth is scheduled for January 13, 2027, again in Sala Sinopoli.
Tickets are sold on the Accademia website through authorized sellers, at the Auditorium box office and at the box office at Via Vittoria 6. The infoline is 06 8082058.
