The film builds an intimate portrait running through public and private life: her emotional fragility, her dependence on her partner, her complicated relationship with motherhood, her strained relations with the other women of the consciousness-raising groups. It draws on previously unreleased archive material. Among the people who appear are Nanni Moretti, Giulio Paolini, Suzanne Santoro, Carla Subrizi and Giovanna Zapperi.
