The event
«Soffia il vento» is a tale performed and danced to the minor key of piano music, present in the places of memory, of a real past projected into a sudden present. The tale of the elsewhere is the essence of the show: Katherine Mansfield was born in an elsewhere that she carried inside her all her life, an elsewhere that marked her short, nomadic existence in search of a home.
The «little wild girl of New Zealand» wakes up in a different culture, the European one, and her mission becomes writing about the time and places of the era when she was a child. She falls ill early and physical pain marks her moves between places of care, even under the bombings of the First World War; but she reads and writes to distant friends in order to keep telling stories.
Voice and direction are by Giorgia Palombi, choreography by Ricky Bonavita, dance by Francesca Schipani and Bonavita himself. Music is by Ludwig van Beethoven and Laurie Anderson. The production is by PinDoc and Akerusia Danza.
