Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators play on Sunday, June 13, 2027 in Rome, as part of Rock in Roma 2027, with the "Flying Blind World Tour 2027". The official box office lists the start at 21:45. The venue is Ippodromo delle Capannelle, at Via Appia Nuova 1245, 00178 Rome. The box office page doesn't show the ticket price and that information isn't published on the page itself, while it says another band will open, whose name will be announced later. Tickets are sold on the event's official box office website, linked at the bottom of this page, or at authorized outlets. To reach the racecourse by public transportation, it's best to use the ATAC journey planner, which shows the updated lines for the concert time. Further down you'll find general directions for the venue anyway.

The concert at a glance
The Rome date is one of two announced for Italy in June 2027. The box office specifies that the American band led by the Guns N' Roses guitarist will play on Saturday, June 12, 2027 at Kozel Carroponte in Sesto San Giovanni, near Milan, and on Sunday, June 13, 2027 at Rock in Roma, at Ippodromo delle Capannelle. The format is an open-air evening concert, with the start set for 21:45 according to the official page.
Date, time and venue
Sunday, June 13, 2027, 21:45, Ippodromo delle Capannelle, Via Appia Nuova 1245. The time shown is the box office one. For gate opening times and the opening act's start, check the date's page on rockinroma.com, because this far from the concert the schedule details aren't set yet.
The opening act
The box office says another band will open the show, to be announced soon. The name isn't known yet: if you plan to be there from the first notes, you'd do well to check the official announcements again in the months before the concert.
A new album on the way
Also according to the box office, the new album by Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators will come out in February 2027, a few months before the two Italian dates. The tour title, Flying Blind, is the one the lineup uses for its 2027 world tour.
The Flying Blind World Tour 2027
The tour is called Flying Blind World Tour 2027 and comes to Italy with just two dates, one in Milan and one in Rome. Choosing Rock in Roma for the Rome stop places the concert in the city's best-known summer lineup for large-scale live music, held every year at a venue built for horse racing.
What to expect from the set list
The evening's program isn't published and no official source has named the songs. On the records they've released together, Slash and Kennedy have built a hard rock repertoire that the audience associates mainly with four studio albums, listed further on. You'll only find out by listening to the concert if the set list will include songs by Guns N' Roses, Alter Bridge or from the solo records.
A date in the heart of summer
June 13 falls at the start of summer. For an evening that starts at 21:45 and takes place in a large open area, the practical advice is to dress in layers: the afternoon heat can give way to a cooler night, especially when you stand still near the stage for a long time.
Who Slash is
Slash is the stage name of Saul Hudson, born on July 23, 1965 in Hampstead, London. He spent his early years in Stoke-on-Trent, in the Blurton neighborhood, until he was about six, then moved with his family to Los Angeles. He has dual citizenship, British and American, the latter obtained in 1996.
The Guns N' Roses years
He joined Guns N' Roses in 1985, replacing founding member Tracii Guns. With the band he recorded Appetite for Destruction (1987), G N' R Lies (1988), the two Use Your Illusion albums (both from 1991) and The Spaghetti Incident? (1993). He announced his departure from the group in 1996 and returned to play with Guns N' Roses in 2016, with an April 1 concert at the Troubadour in Los Angeles.
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
In 2012 he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Guns N' Roses. It's an honor that concerns the band as a whole, not a solo career, and it shows the historical weight of the records made between 1987 and 1993.
Snakepit and Velvet Revolver
In 1994 he formed Slash's Snakepit, who released It's Five O'Clock Somewhere (February 1995) and Ain't Life Grand (October 2000). After breaking up in 1996 and re-forming in 1999, the group stopped for good in 2002. That same year Velvet Revolver was born with Scott Weiland, who made Contraband (June 2004) and Libertad (July 2007). The band won a Grammy for the song Slither. In 2005 it had received three nominations, for rock album, rock song and hard rock performance. Weiland left the group in April 2008.
The solo career
The first self-titled record, Slash, came out in 2010 and features many singers. The second solo work, Orgy of the Damned, is from 2024. Alongside the records under his own name, for years the guitarist has been recording with the lineup he's bringing on tour to Rome.
Who Myles Kennedy is
Myles Richard Bass, known as Myles Kennedy, was born on November 27, 1969 in Boston, Massachusetts, and grew up in northern Idaho and in Spokane, Washington. He's the singer who since 2010 has worked with Slash and given voice to the whole repertoire recorded with The Conspirators.
The Mayfield Four
Before Alter Bridge, Kennedy sang in the Mayfield Four, who released Fallout (1998) and Second Skin (June 2001). These are the records that made him known on the rock scene before his international breakthrough.
Alter Bridge
Alter Bridge was officially formed in January 2004 and Kennedy became its singer. The discography includes One Day Remains (2004), Blackbird (2007), AB III (2010), Fortress (2013), The Last Hero (2016), Walk the Sky (2019) and Pawns and Kings (2022). An eighth album, titled simply Alter Bridge, is listed for 2026.
The solo records
As a solo artist Kennedy has released Year of the Tiger (March 9, 2018), The Ides of March (May 14, 2021) and The Art of Letting Go (October 11, 2024).
The voice that almost joined Led Zeppelin
In 2008 a rumor circulated that he was joining Led Zeppelin. Kennedy later confirmed that he had written and rehearsed with Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham, without joining the lineup, and specified that any project wouldn't have been called Led Zeppelin. On April 14, 2012 he sang three Guns N' Roses songs at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony in Axl Rose's absence. In 2001 he had appeared in the film Rock Star as Mike, known as Thor.
Slash and Myles Kennedy: how the collaboration began
The artistic meeting dates back to Slash's 2010 solo record, on which Kennedy sings Starlight and Back from Cali. From there the collaboration turned into a stable lineup, credited as Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators.
The four albums released
Apocalyptic Love came out on May 22, 2012, World on Fire on September 10, 2014, Living the Dream on September 21, 2018 and 4 on February 11, 2022. The sources consulted aren't entirely consistent in crediting the last three titles, which on one page appear under another project name, while the discography list credits them to the lineup coming to Rome.
Why the name is long
The wording featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators serves to distinguish this project from Slash's solo work and from Kennedy's work with Alter Bridge. On the 2027 poster the name appears in full, just as it's written on the official box office page.
The essential discography in listening order
If you're coming to the concert as a newcomer, you can build a listening path starting from the records most cited in the two artists' biographies.
To understand Slash
Appetite for Destruction (1987) remains the record with which the guitarist entered rock history. Then come G N' R Lies, the two Use Your Illusion albums from 1991 and Slash's Snakepit's first record from 1995. With Velvet Revolver, Contraband (2004) contains Slither, the Grammy-winning song.
To understand Kennedy
One Day Remains (2004) and Blackbird (2007) are the entry points for the Alter Bridge voice, while Year of the Tiger (2018) shows the singer's more personal side. For the repertoire with Slash, start with Apocalyptic Love (2012).
To arrive prepared for 2027
The new album announced for February 2027 will come out four months before the Rome date. Listening to 4 (2022) and, right after, the new record lets you recognize most of the more recent live repertoire.
Rock in Roma: the festival context
The Rock in Roma festival started in June 2009 and takes place every year at Ippodromo delle Capannelle. Occasionally it has also used the Circus Maximus. Between 1998 and 2008 many concerts had already been held in the same spaces, including under the name Romarock Festival. The 2020 and 2021 editions didn't take place because of the Covid-19 epidemic.
A festival in a racecourse
Unlike festivals held in parks or ancient theaters, Rock in Roma uses the large areas of a sports venue. The main stage can reach about 45,000 spectators, while the smaller setups stop at a few thousand.
The 2027 lineup
In the 2027 lineup the Slash and Kennedy date sits alongside other concerts at the racecourse, including Fontaines D.C. at Ippodromo delle Capannelle. The full calendar should be checked on the festival website, because dates are announced gradually.
Ippodromo delle Capannelle
The racecourse is southeast of Rome, in the Capannelle area, along Via Appia Nuova, on the right side heading out of the city and a few hundred meters from the Grande Raccordo Anulare. It covers 140 hectares. With its four grandstands and parterre it holds 20,000 people, rising to 45,000 on concert nights. The stables can hold up to 1,000 horses.
The races that made it famous
Among the most important racing events are the Derby Italiano di Galoppo, the Premio Regina Elena and the Premio Tudini. The venue has also hosted the Cyclo-cross World Championships, exhibitions and cricket matches, for which there's a dedicated area with a small 60-seat stand.
One venue, many setups
This versatility explains why the racecourse became the usual venue for large-format rock concerts: the grounds are vast, the lighting system is already installed and access from the Raccordo is quick if you arrive by car.
A curious fact about Ippodromo delle Capannelle
The name Capannelle comes from the typical huts of the Roman Campagna that in the 19th century stood near the fork between Via Appia Nuova and Via Appia Pignatelli. So anyone attending the Slash concert is in a place whose name recalls a landscape of shepherds and countryside, now replaced by grandstands, light towers and stages.
Another curious fact concerns the use of the land. Before the races, in 1844, the same nearby area was used for fox hunting: it was Lord George Stanhope, Earl of Chesterfield, who organized two days of horse racing there, in an area that until then had served an aristocratic pastime of a quite different kind.
Something nobody tells you about Ippodromo delle Capannelle
The real obstacle of the evening isn't the concert, but the time before and after the show. Entry checks can take up to 40 minutes on the busiest dates, the ground is unpaved and the distances between entrance, areas and exit are long. Anyone who goes through the evening carefree discovers only at the exit that at midnight the problem is getting back to the city.
The affiliated shuttles have limited seats and, for the dates observed in the festival programs, leave around 00:30 and 01:00. Directions on gates and parking can also change from one evening to the next: that's why the rules for each date, published on rockinroma.com, should be read before leaving home.
My tip for visiting Ippodromo delle Capannelle
Plan your return before buying your ticket, not after. If you're thinking of taking the train, Capannelle station on the FL4 line from Roma Termini is about 400 meters from the racecourse. But check the time of the last evening train, because a concert that starts at 21:45 ends at an hour when trains may be rare or not running.
Wear closed shoes, bring a sweatshirt for the night and water for the June heat. Arrive early to avoid lines at the checks and check the rules: umbrellas, folding seats, rigid objects, glass and sealed bottles are usually banned. With small children, think carefully about the times, the crowd and the dust.
Another well-known fact, yet one that's rarely mentioned
It's known that the racecourse hosts concerts, but it's less remembered that the venue is the oldest in Italy still in operation and that it has been a technical laboratory: in October 2005 it opened Italy's first all-weather track with a synthetic surface, and on September 9, 2006 it switched on its lighting system for the first time, with 25 light towers and 550 floodlights of 2,000 watts each.
Those same lights, designed for night race meetings, are now part of the atmosphere of the music evenings. Until March 2014 the venue hosted only flat racing. After the closure of Tor di Valle, harness racing arrived too, on a new inner track.
The right photo to take at Ippodromo delle Capannelle
The most recognizable photo of the racecourse isn't taken during the concert, but before, in the low light of the late afternoon, framing the grandstands and light towers from the entrance avenue. For pictures of the stage, the date's rules set which devices you can bring in, and it's best to check before bringing bulky equipment.
If you have time in the preceding hours, a second possible image is that of the aqueduct arches in the nearby Aqueducts Park, which gives the evening an ancient counterpoint. The simplest evening shot is still the venue's lights seen from the parterre, while the crowd is still waiting.
Some important events that happened here in history
The history of the racecourse can be read in dates. In 1844 Lord George Stanhope organized two days of racing on the land nearby. In 1881 the racecourse opened, while in the same period the Jockey Club Italiano and the Società degli Steeple Chases were founded. In 1926 the structure was renovated and took on the current layout of its grandstands.
From 2005 to 2014
In 2005 came the all-weather track, in 2006 the lighting for night racing, in 2009 the first edition of Rock in Roma and in 2014 harness racing. The Grande Steeple Chase delle Capannelle was moved to Merano after the jumps track was decommissioned.
The missed editions
The years 2020 and 2021 saw no Rock in Roma editions because of Covid-19: a break that makes the return of large-format concerts a small event in the place's recent history.
Who has passed through Ippodromo delle Capannelle
Horses, jockeys and trainers have passed through the racecourse for over a century, but also champions of other sports, like the cyclists of the Cyclo-cross World Championships, and the cricket players who use the dedicated area. Under the name Romarock Festival, between 1998 and 2008, the place hosted many concerts, and since 2009 it has hosted Rock in Roma.
On June 13, 2027 the stage belongs to Slash, Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators. The same year's lineup also includes Fontaines D.C. at Ippodromo delle Capannelle. A complete list of past artists isn't given in the sources consulted, and so it isn't put together here.
What to see nearby before the concert
If you're coming to Rome for the evening, you can devote the day to the places along the Appia. Aqueducts Park is the closest to the venue and preserves seven aqueducts, including Anio Vetus, Marcia, Tepula, Iulia, Felice and Claudio. In the area, of about 240 hectares, films such as La dolce vita, Mamma Roma, Il marchese del Grillo and The Great Beauty were shot.
Villa of the Quintilii
Villa of the Quintilii was the residence of the brothers Sextus Quintilius Condianus and Sextus Quintilius Valerius Maximus, consuls in 151. Commodus had them killed in 182-183 and confiscated their property, making the villa imperial. The core dates from the late Hadrianic period and preserves bath halls, the Maritime Theater and a large complex of cisterns.
Appia Antica, Caffarella and catacombs
The Appia Antica Park and Caffarella Park offer outdoor routes, while the Catacombs of San Callisto are an indoor visit. For each site's opening hours, it's best to check the official sources. Film lovers can add Cinecittà Studios, along the same southeast axis of the city.
How to get to Ippodromo delle Capannelle
The address is Via Appia Nuova 1245. No metro line reaches the racecourse directly: by public transportation you can take metro A to Colli Albani and then bus 664, or get off at Cinecittà and take the 520. Buses 520, 664 and 789 have the Capannelle stop about 100 meters from the entrance.
By train
Capannelle station is on the FL4 line from Roma Termini, about 400 meters from the racecourse, a ride of a few minutes. Check the last evening train.
By car
From the Raccordo take exit 23 (Appio San Giovanni), then continue on the Appia Nuova. The parking lots are numbered P1 to P6 and open in stages during the afternoon. For updated routes and times use the ATAC journey planner.
Accessibility and rules
For those with accessibility needs, the information available indicates entry from Gate A and parking lot P4, with volunteer assistance. The ground is unpaved and the distances are long. Directions on gates and parking aren't always consistent across sources and should be checked on the official page for each date.
What to bring and what to leave at home
The evening's rules usually ban umbrellas, folding seats, rigid objects, glass and sealed bottles. The final rules are published by the organizers close to the date.
Tickets and prices
Tickets for the June 13, 2027 date are sold through the event's official box office, linked from this page. The price isn't shown on the sales page consulted and isn't published, so we don't give it here. The box office also lists the sections Info location, Ticket delivery and Find a reseller.
When to buy
For concerts of this scale, my advice is to buy only from official channels and to keep your ticket safe until you get in.
How to plan the evening, hour by hour
Since the concert is set for 21:45 and the gate time isn't published yet, it's best to think in time slots and adjust the plan as soon as the organizers announce the details. The goal is to arrive calmly, avoid the longest lines and have already decided how to get back.
In the afternoon
The afternoon is the time to head southeast by public transportation or by car, for the parking lots that open in stages. If you're traveling by train on the FL4 line, you can combine the arrival with a walk to the racecourse, about 400 meters from Capannelle station.
In the evening
With a 21:45 start and an opening act still to be announced, the evening has several parts. Entry checks can take up to 40 minutes, so showing up when the gates open is the most prudent choice if you want a good listening spot.
After the last note
The exit is the trickiest moment. The affiliated shuttles have limited seats and leave around 00:30 and 01:00. If you choose the train, you need to know the last run in advance, while if you come by car you have to factor in the wait to get out of the parking lots.
The racecourse before the concerts
To understand the venue, it's worth looking at it through the eyes of horse racing. The venue hosts the Derby Italiano di Galoppo, the Premio Regina Elena and the Premio Tudini. Until March 2014 only flat and jump races were run, then harness races were added.
Flat racing
Flat racing is the place's historic discipline: the first race days, organized by Lord George Stanhope in 1844, and the opening of the racecourse in 1881 belong to this tradition. In the same period the Jockey Club Italiano and the Società degli Steeple Chases were founded.
Harness racing
Harness racing arrived after the closure of Tor di Valle, with a new inner track. It's an example of how the venue has managed to change function without ceasing to be a place for racing.
The racecourse and the Appia: a geography of ruins and meadows
The racecourse looks onto the Appia Nuova, a short distance from a stretch of Roman countryside where aqueduct arches, villas and tombs survive. The proximity makes the concert a chance to see other things too, especially if you arrive early.
The aqueducts
Aqueducts Park preserves the Anio Vetus, underground, the stacked Marcia, Tepula, Iulia and Felice and, also stacked, the Claudio and Anio Novus. In 1965 the master plan designated the area as public green space, in the 1970s it was cleared of shantytowns, in 1986 the Committee for the protection of the park was founded and in 1988 the area became part of the Appia Antica Regional Park.
Villa delle Vignacce
In the park is Villa delle Vignacce, attributed to Quintus Servilius Pudens, with an adjoining cistern. A walk among the arches is a good way to fill the afternoon before the concert.
Getting ready by listening
A few hours of preparation are enough to make the concert easier to follow. The suggestion is to go by routes, without trying to listen to the whole discography.
A route in three stages
First stage: Appetite for Destruction, to understand where the guitarist's sound comes from. Second stage: Apocalyptic Love (2012) and Living the Dream (2018), to get into the repertoire with Kennedy. Third stage: 4 (2022) and the record coming out in February 2027.
A second route, from Kennedy's side
If you already know Alter Bridge, you can start from One Day Remains and then move on to the records with Slash, to notice how the singer's writing changes in a different context.
What can't be predicted
The June 13 set list hasn't been published and no source consulted mentions it: any list circulating before the concert should be taken as a guess.
Notes for those coming from outside Rome
If you're arriving from another city and sleeping in Rome, keep in mind that the venue is outside the center, in an area served by train and bus but not by the metro. It's best to choose accommodation near Termini station, where the FL4 line starts, or along metro A, to catch the bus after Colli Albani or Cinecittà.
Where to stay
The Termini and line A areas offer useful connections: Termini for the direct train to Capannelle station, Colli Albani and Cinecittà for buses 664 and 520.
The next day
The concert ends late at night. The next day, it's best to leave a free morning and save a visit to a site like the Circus Maximus for a less rushed time.
