Shamzy in Wasabi at Nuovo Teatro Orione, April 2, 2027
Shamzy brings Wasabi, his new stand-up comedy show, to Rome on Friday, April 2, 2027 at 21:00 at Nuovo Teatro Orione, on Via Tortona 7, in the Appio Latino neighborhood. Shamzy is the stage name of Andrea Di Raimo, a content creator from Tuscany followed by more than 2 million people on digital platforms. Wasabi is his fourth theater show, after A casa mia, Testa di Caos and Stato Interessante. You get to the theater by Metro Line A, stops Re di Roma or Ponte Lungo, a few minutes' walk. Full-price tickets cost €29 in the orchestra and €23 in the gallery, plus service fees, and are bought through the authorized presale network of the organizer, Nuovo Teatro Verdi of Montecatini Terme.
Language: performed in Italian. No English version or English surtitles are announced.

The Rome stop falls in the middle of the national tour of Wasabi, which started on November 13, 2026 at Teatro Moderno in Agliana, in the province of Pistoia, and is set to end on May 22, 2027 in Milan. One night only, a Friday, in a theater of almost a thousand seats.
Shamzy in Rome: date, time and tickets
Shamzy's Wasabi is on at Nuovo Teatro Orione for one night only, Friday, April 2, 2027, starting at 21:00. It is the only Rome date of the tour.
A single date
The tour calendar has just one stop in Rome. The day before, April 1, there are no dates. The day after, Saturday, April 3, Shamzy is already at Teatro Bolivar in Naples. Anyone who wants to see him in the capital therefore has only one chance.
Prices
On the authorized presale network, full-price tickets cost €29 in the orchestra and €23 in the gallery. The reseller's service fees are added to the price, while the presale fee is already included.
Where to buy
Tickets are bought on the presale network authorized by the organizer, which for this date is Nuovo Teatro Verdi Srl, a company based in Montecatini Terme. The network lets you choose your seat on the hall map or leave it to the automatic selection of the best available seat.
In case of cancellation
The reseller states that it is not the event organizer: the terms and amount of refunds depend on the organizer, and service fees are non-refundable. It's best to keep the purchase confirmation.
Wasabi: what to expect from the show
Wasabi is a stand-up comedy show: Shamzy alone on stage, with a microphone, in front of the audience. The official presentation describes it as a show with a pungent, unfiltered flavor, with the cynical and unpredictable point of view of its author.
The subtitle
The subtitle chosen for the tour is a small statement of artistic approach: "Delicious in small doses. Unbearable all at once." Like the Japanese sauce that gives the show its name, Shamzy's comedy relies on the pinch that burns, on the joke that reaches the nose before the palate.
The themes
The tour presentations speak of satire based on observing everyday life, contradictions and today's manias. The monologues, fast-paced, start from small personal frustrations and reach shared social dynamics, turning the banality of every day into comic material.
The language
The language, as the title promises, is direct and uncensored. Anyone who knows Shamzy from his videos knows the register is irreverent: it's good to know that before bringing very young spectators, or people not used to contemporary comedy, into the hall.
The title: why Wasabi
Wasabi is the green, spicy paste that goes with sushi: a few grams are enough to make your eyes water, too much ruins the dish. Shamzy made it the symbol of his fourth show.
Comedy in small doses
The subtitle plays on exactly this balance: the creator's comedy works like a strong condiment, which gives flavor to everyday life but, taken all at once, can be too much. It's a rare self-irony in a tour title, and says a lot about the tone of the evening.
After Stato Interessante
The previous title, Stato Interessante, played on an institutional double meaning: Italy as a country where the State is never stable. With Wasabi the author shifts the focus from political current events to a more personal and pointed language, staying in the territory of satire.
Who is Shamzy: Andrea Di Raimo
Shamzy is the alter ego of Andrea Di Raimo, a content creator from Tuscany known on TikTok and Instagram, with a following of more than 2 million people on digital platforms.
From videos to theater
Shamzy's success was born from short videos, the vertical content watched on the phone. From there came the move to theater, which the trade press describes as an increasingly common trend among talents born on digital: bringing in front of a live audience what works in 30 seconds, stretching it into a show of an hour or more.
The 2022 debut
The theater debut dates to 2022, with A casa mia. Testa di Caos and Stato Interessante followed, shows that drew a wide response from audiences across the peninsula. Wasabi is the fourth chapter of this path on the stage.
The Tuscan production
The organizer listed for the Rome date of Wasabi is Nuovo Teatro Verdi Srl, a company based on Via Verdi in Montecatini Terme, a city where the tour stops at Teatro Verdi on February 27, 2027. The link with Tuscany also shows in the calendar: the first three dates, in November 2026, are all in Tuscany, in Agliana, Cascina and Prato.
The young audience
The tour presentations stress the goal of combining entertainment with using one's media resonance to speak to younger people, tackling current topics in an irreverent register. It's the audience that fills the halls on the tour, and it's also the one you'll meet at Orione.
The Wasabi tour: from Agliana to Milan
The Wasabi tour has 26 dates across Italy, from November 13, 2026 to May 22, 2027, according to the calendar released by the trade press.
The first stops
It debuts at Teatro Moderno in Agliana on November 13, 2026, followed by La Città del Teatro in Cascina on November 21 and Teatro Garibaldi in Prato on November 22.
Winter
From January 2027 the tour moves up the peninsula. In January: Verona, Turin, Trieste, Mestre and Brescia. In February: Arezzo, Grosseto, Bari, Pescara and Montecatini Terme. In March: Livorno and Vicenza.
Spring
April 2 is Rome's turn and April 3 is Naples's. After that come Alessandria, Modena, Florence, Ancona and Padua in April, then Bergamo, Bologna and Genoa in May, up to the closing on May 22 at Teatro Nazionale in Milan. If you can't make it to Rome, the closest date is in Naples, the following night.
Stand-up comedy, a theater genre
Stand-up comedy is the genre in which a comedian, alone and without scenery, speaks directly to the audience: no character, no fourth wall, just a voice and a point of view.
An empty stage
In a show like Wasabi the stage is almost empty: a microphone, maybe a stand, the lights. The writing and the rhythm do everything else. It's a genre that seems simple and instead requires an almost musical precision in timing.
From the phone to the hall
For a creator the difference between video and theater is enormous. On the phone every joke can be edited, cut, redone. In the hall you have a single chance, and the audience's response arrives immediately. Seeing live a comedian you know from social media is the best way to find out if his comedy holds up even without editing.
The audience as a partner
In stand-up the audience is not a passive spectator: the laughter, the silences, the reactions change the rhythm of the evening. A full house on a Friday night, like the one at Orione, is the ideal setting for this kind of show.
A curiosity about Shamzy in Wasabi at Nuovo Teatro Orione, April 2, 2027
The curiosity concerns the geography of the tour. Wasabi starts in the Tuscan province and returns there several times: Agliana, Cascina, Prato, Arezzo, Grosseto, Montecatini Terme, Livorno, Florence. Eight of the 26 dates are in Tuscany, the creator's region and that of his production.
Rome, instead, comes almost halfway through the journey, after more than four months of performances. For a stand-up show that's an important detail: monologues get refined night after night, the jokes that don't work fall away, the ones that work get longer. The Roman audience will therefore see a version of Wasabi already broken in by about 20 shows, midway between the debut and the Milan closing.
There is also a second coincidence. The following night, Saturday, April 3, Shamzy is at Teatro Bolivar in Naples: two big cities of central-southern Italy on two consecutive nights, with the trip in between. A real tour rhythm, far from the image of the creator who works from home in front of a camera.
Finally, the name. Shamzy has never hidden being an alter ego: behind it is Andrea Di Raimo, and the play between the person and the character is part of his way of being on stage.
Nuovo Teatro Orione: the hall on Via Tortona
Nuovo Teatro Orione, on Via Tortona 7, has 548 seats in the orchestra and 428 in the gallery: with almost a thousand seats it presents itself as one of the largest theaters in Rome.
The 1950s and 1960s
The theater was born in the early 1950s in the Appio Latino neighborhood, with a program of opera and operetta and dance evenings with the dancer Ivana Gattei. In the 1960s it hosted, among others, I piccoli di Podrecca, the puppet company of Vittorio Podrecca, while its use as a movie theater grew. Next to the theater the Arena was born for summer screenings.
Sets, rehearsals, television
In the 1970s Orione was a soundstage for films such as La pretora, with Oreste Lionello and Edwige Fenech. In the 1980s the stage hosted rehearsals for major productions by Gigi Proietti and Ugo Tognazzi. In the 1990s, with the cinema given up, it hosted television productions, mostly for Mediaset.
The new management
After a period devoted mainly to dance, the hall restarted under the name of Nuovo Teatro Orione and with a new management, which presents it as the image of an artistic and cultural rebirth for the neighborhood and for Rome: a large foyer for aperitifs and exhibitions, a theater course, hall rental for shows and events.
Something nobody tells you about Shamzy in Wasabi at Nuovo Teatro Orione, April 2, 2027
What few people consider is the difference between the orchestra and the gallery at a stand-up show. In a dramatic theater, the gallery gives an overview of the scene. In stand-up the scene is one person, and the overview matters little. What matters are the facial expressions, the pauses, the look at the audience.
For this reason, in our opinion, the €6 difference between the orchestra at €29 and the gallery at €23 is worth the cost, especially in the first rows. With 548 seats in the orchestra there is room for everyone. Anyone who buys late and finds only the gallery shouldn't worry anyway, because the voice carries well throughout the hall.
The second thing concerns the production. The organizer of the evening is not a Roman company but a Tuscan one, based in Montecatini Terme. For any information about the evening, from refunds to entry rules, the point of reference is therefore the organizer listed on the sales network, more than the theater.
Third: Friday. A weekend evening in a residential neighborhood means rush-hour traffic and difficult parking. Metro Line A remains, by far, the best choice.
How to get to Nuovo Teatro Orione
Nuovo Teatro Orione, on Via Tortona 7, can be reached by Metro Line A: the Re di Roma and Ponte Lungo stops are both about 300 meters away, a few minutes' walk. Via Tortona is about 150 meters from Via Appia Nuova.
By metro
From Termini, Line A toward Anagnina reaches Re di Roma in a few minutes, passing through San Giovanni. From Piazza dei Re di Roma you walk toward Via Appia Nuova and turn onto Via Tortona. The theater's website names the Re di Roma stop as the reference point. From the next stop, Ponte Lungo, the walk is of similar length.
By train
Roma Tuscolana station is about 700 meters from the theater as the crow flies. It's convenient for those arriving from the province or the coast. In the evening the trains run less often, and the return trip should be checked beforehand.
By bus
Via Appia Nuova is served by several surface lines. For the exact route it's best to use the Rome public transport trip planner, especially for the return late at night.
By car
Appio Latino is outside the ZTL. On Friday nights finding parking on the streets around Appia Nuova, narrow and densely populated, takes time: if you come by car, leave with a margin of at least a quarter of an hour more.
My advice for visiting Shamzy in Wasabi at Nuovo Teatro Orione, April 2, 2027
My advice is to take Metro Line A to Re di Roma around 20:15 and show up on Via Tortona about 20 minutes ahead of the 21:00 start. In a theater of almost a thousand seats, with a young audience that arrives all at once, those minutes make the difference between walking in calmly and standing in line on the sidewalk.
On choosing a seat, the orchestra is better: in stand-up the comedian's expressions are half the show, and from the front rows you catch them better. The gallery, €6 less, remains a good choice for those who want to spend less or who prefer to watch the evening from a certain distance.
Second piece of advice: watch a few of Shamzy's videos before the evening, if you don't know him. Not to anticipate the jokes, which in the theater are different, but to understand the register and decide if it's suitable for whoever is coming with us, especially if there are kids or people unused to unfiltered comedy in the group.
Third: check the time of the last Metro Line A train on the Rome public transport website before leaving home, to plan the return without surprises.
Another well-known fact, yet rarely mentioned
It's well known that many of today's comedians were born on social media. Less often mentioned is how hard the move to theater is. A 30-second video can gather millions of views, but a theater show has to hold the audience for an hour or more, without the possibility of scrolling to the next piece of content.
Shamzy made this move in 2022, with A casa mia, and since then has built a theater career with a new show almost every season: Testa di Caos, Stato Interessante, now Wasabi. Four shows in five years is a remarkable writing pace, which disproves the idea of the creator who lives off his old videos.
A second well-known and little-told fact concerns geography. The Wasabi tour is not limited to the big cities: next to Rome, Milan, Naples and Turin there are Agliana, Cascina, Grosseto, Montecatini Terme, Alessandria. For a comedian born on the web, the Italian provinces are an audience as loyal as that of the metropolises, and the calendar proves it.
The third, finally: in our opinion these shows have a precious side effect, because they bring into the hall young spectators who rarely go to the theater. For a neighborhood theater like Orione it's a new audience.
The right photo to take at Shamzy in Wasabi at Nuovo Teatro Orione, April 2, 2027
The right photo is taken before the show, in front of the facade of Nuovo Teatro Orione on Via Tortona, with the sign lit above the entrance. In early April, around 20:30, the sky is already dark and the lit sign gives the image the tone of an evening at an old-time theater, in contrast with a social media comedian.
During the show the rules on photos and filming are those set by the organizers and the hall, and must be respected. There's one more reason not to film: stand-up lives on the moment, and a joke shot with a phone and posted out of context loses all its sense. Shamzy's official content is on his profiles, for anyone who wants to rewatch it.
The spacious foyer at Orione is the right space for a souvenir photo with friends, ticket in hand, before going into the hall. For those who have followed Shamzy for years, a photo in front of the Rome theater of the Wasabi tour is a keepsake to share with the community of followers.
Appio Latino, the neighborhood of Teatro Orione
Via Tortona is in Appio Latino, the neighborhood between Via Appia Nuova and Via Latina, south of the Aurelian Walls. It's a dense, residential neighborhood, with a lively street life.
Between Appia Nuova and Tuscolana
The theater is about 150 meters from Via Appia Nuova, the commercial axis of the area, and a few hundred meters from Piazza dei Re di Roma. Farther east runs Via Tuscolana, with Roma Tuscolana station.
Nearby green space
South of the neighborhood opens Caffarella Park, part of the system of Appian Way Park. In early April, with the days getting longer, an afternoon walk in the park is a pleasant way to arrive at the show. It's best to be out of it before dark.
San Giovanni a few stops away
Metro Line A connects Orione to San Giovanni in a few minutes. Those arriving in the afternoon can combine the show with a visit to the Basilica of St. John Lateran and the Holy Stairs, checking the opening hours for the day.
Some important events that happened here in history
The history of Teatro Orione begins in the early 1950s, when the hall opened in the Appio Latino neighborhood with a program of opera, operetta and dance evenings with the dancer Ivana Gattei. These are the years in which the new neighborhoods along Appia Nuova and Tuscolana were equipping themselves with halls of their own.
In the 1960s I piccoli di Podrecca arrive, while the hall works more and more as a movie theater and next door the Arena for summer screenings is born. In the 1970s Orione becomes a soundstage and La pretora is shot there. In the 1980s, with art-house cinema in decline, the stage hosts rehearsals for major productions by Gigi Proietti and Ugo Tognazzi, two names who made the history of Italian comedy.
With the 1990s the cinema season closes: the hall becomes a venue for television productions, mostly for Mediaset. In the 2000s, without a stable artistic direction, Orione hosts mostly dance events. The most recent phase is that of Nuovo Teatro Orione, with a management that focuses on original plays, concerts, a theater course, comedy and family shows. The April 2 evening fits into this history in a coherent way: comedy returns to Via Tortona with an artist raised in the social media era.
Who has passed through Shamzy in Wasabi at Nuovo Teatro Orione, April 2, 2027
Across the stage of Orione have passed, in the 1950s, the dancer Ivana Gattei and the opera and operetta singers. In the 1960s, the puppets of I piccoli di Podrecca. In the 1970s, Oreste Lionello and Edwige Fenech for the filming of La pretora. In the 1980s, Gigi Proietti and Ugo Tognazzi for the rehearsals of their shows.
In the 2026-2027 season the program lines up very different audiences: the family magic show Back to School, the dance crew Royal Family Europe with Defend the Throne, the Arteteca with Operazione Cicogna. At the end of May 2027 the American comedian Morgan Jay is also expected.
Shamzy adds a coherent piece to this story: a Tuscan comedian raised on social media in a Roman neighborhood theater that has seen Proietti and Tognazzi pass through. In our opinion it is precisely this contrast, between the global scale of social media and the intimate size of a neighborhood hall, that makes the evening interesting.
How to plan the evening of Wasabi
For Shamzy's evening at Orione the most convenient sequence is simple: Metro Line A, a quick dinner in the neighborhood, entering the hall 20 minutes early, back on the metro.
The afternoon
Those arriving in Rome for the occasion can spend the afternoon at San Giovanni, two metro stops away, or at Parco della Caffarella, south of the neighborhood, if the weather is good. In early April the light lasts until evening, and an outdoor walk before an hour and a half of laughs in the hall is a good balance.
With friends
Stand-up is a show to see in company: you laugh more when you laugh together. Whoever organizes the evening for several people should make a single purchase, choosing the seats on the hall map so you sit together. With the automatic selection of the best available seat the risk is ending up scattered.
The return
The show starts at 21:00, and the organizers don't indicate its length. It's best to have in mind the time of the last metro and, as an alternative, the number of a taxi service, especially for those who live far from Line A.
Orchestra or gallery: how to choose your seat
For Wasabi the sales network offers two sections, orchestra at €29 and gallery at €23: the choice depends on what you are looking for in the evening.
The orchestra
With 548 seats, the orchestra at Orione is large. The front rows are closest to the comedian and let you catch every expression. The central rows offer the best balance between closeness and an overview of the stage.
The gallery
The 428 gallery seats cost €6 less and give a view from above. For a show without scenery the difference is felt mostly in eye contact with the comedian, less in the listening.
Where to eat near Teatro Orione
Appio Latino has a wide offering of pizzerias, neighborhood trattorias, bakeries and gelaterias, concentrated along Via Appia Nuova and around Piazza dei Re di Roma. With the show at 21:00, dinner has to be eaten beforehand or put off until afterward.
Before the show
The most sensible solution is a pizza around 19:30 in a pizzeria in the area: quick service and the theater a few steps away. On Friday nights places fill up early, and groups of friends do well to book.
After the show
On the way out, after 22:30, it's best to have picked out beforehand a place still open along Appia Nuova. For those who want to extend the evening, Metro Line A takes you to San Giovanni in a few minutes.
Accessibility, age and practical information
Nuovo Teatro Orione doesn't publish detailed information on the hall's accessibility: anyone with special needs should contact the theater before the show. For the rules of the individual evening the reference is the organizer listed on the official network.
Age
The organizers don't indicate an age limit. The language of Wasabi is presented as direct and uncensored: in our opinion the show suits an audience aged 16 and up, and parents of younger kids would do well to watch a few of the artist's videos first.
Punctuality
With almost a thousand seats and an audience that arrives all at once, getting in can take time. Arriving 20 minutes early lets you find your seat calmly. In stand-up, walking in after the show has started draws the comedian's attention.
Rome in early April
In early April in Rome the days are mild and the evenings still cool: a light jacket is enough for the exit. It's a period of heavy tourist traffic, and anyone coming from out of town should book lodging in good time. Anyone who wants to build a tailor-made stay around the evening can contact Tour Leader Pro, which organizes private tours and experiences.
