Teatro Italia describes its program as a meeting of classical tradition and contemporary playwriting: drama, dance, concerts, musicals, experimentation and theater in other languages, along with conferences, seminars and university lectures. Among the performers who have appeared on its stage, the website recalls Nando Gazzolo in The Dresser and Gianrico Tedeschi in Le ultime lune, as well as Rita Forte and Alfredo Pedullà. The theater, opened in 1930 and reborn in 2006, is in the Nomentano neighborhood. Another tribute to Gaber in the city is Gaber sotto le stelle at Teatro Trastevere.
