Hacienda is reached from Tiburtina station, served by Metro B and trains, with a walk of just over a kilometer or by surface bus. The venue has no private parking. Codefendants at Hacienda Roma in brief

The November 5 concert is one of the two Italian dates of Codefendants' return, after their set at Bay Fest 2025: Rome at Hacienda on the 5th, Milan at Legend Club on the 6th. On stage, according to the promoter, is the duo led by Ceschi Ramos and Sam King.

Date and format

Thursday, November 5, 2026, Hacienda Roma, live concert with special guest. The format is a club one: standing audience, no numbered seats, bar and coat check.

The guest: Jakobs Castle

Opening the evening, on both Italian dates, is Jakobs Castle, the project of Jakob Nowell, son of Bradley Nowell, the original frontman of Sublime. It's a thoughtful pairing: two different ways of mixing punk, California and street culture.

Tickets

The official concert page on the Hub Music Factory website lists the authorized presale network where tickets are sold. Times and prices are given there. Check them before you leave home, because at clubs door and show times can be updated close to the date.

Invincible Fest

The concert is part of Invincible Fest, Hub Music Factory's Rome program for fall 2026, which between October and November also brings Crashdïet, Gvllow and Spike and the Gimme Gimmes to Rome, mostly at Traffic.

What you'll hear at the Codefendants concert

Codefendants call their sound Crimewave: a crossover of punk, hip hop and rock, with sharp lyrics, dark humor and what the promoter calls street honesty. They come to Rome with their second studio album, «Lifers», released in 2026.

Lifers, the new record

«Lifers» is the band's second album, released in 2026, and according to Hub Music Factory it consolidates the Crimewave sound and the group's reputation as one of the most original acts on the international alternative scene. It's natural for the Rome concert to feature much of it.

This Is Crime Wave, the debut

The first album, «This Is Crime Wave», came out on March 24, 2023 and was recorded in Echo Park, Los Angeles, in Baz The Frenchman's studio. It's the record that set the formula: rapped verses, punk choruses, guitars and beats that move from new wave to boom bap.

A punk and hip hop concert in one

If you come from punk, you'll find fast tempos and sing-alongs. If you come from hip hop, you'll find Ceschi's flow and the writing of someone from underground rap. The band promises, in the promoter's words, intense, adrenaline-packed concerts: in a club the size of Hacienda, that means a mosh pit in front of the stage.

The set list

The set list isn't published. The repertoire of the two albums is the natural basis for the concert.

Codefendants: biography of a punk collective

Codefendants formed in 2021 when Fat Mike of NOFX, rapper and songwriter Julio Ceschi Ramos and Sam King, singer of the punk band Get Dead, came together. The name plays on the legal past that two of the three founders talk about openly in their songs.

The Bay Area and 924 Gilman

The promoter says Sam King and Ceschi met at 924 Gilman Street, the graffiti-covered venue that gave its name to a whole era of Bay Area punk, the one of Operation Ivy, Green Day and Rancid. Hub Music Factory describes it as a punk church with no pews and full of sinners.

The Crimewave manifesto

The official presentation describes the trio as three people with records and musical ambitions who crashed onto the scene like a Molotov cocktail thrown at an industry built on safe choices. It's a pose, of course, but also a poetics: the songs talk about mistakes, prisons and second chances.

From the first record to big stages

After «This Is Crime Wave» came out in 2023, the band took the record on tour: Punk Rock Holiday and Bay Fest in Europe, and Rhymefest in Los Angeles, where they shared the stage with Xzibit, Dilated Peoples and DJ Quik. They opened for NOFX on the farewell tour and played with Lagwagon, Pennywise and Circle Jerks.

Bay Fest 2025 and the return

Their set at Bay Fest 2025, the promoter says, won over the Italian audience. The November 2026 return, with «Lifers» just out, comes at a key moment for the group.

Ceschi Ramos, the hip hop voice of Codefendants

Julio Francisco Ramos, known as Ceschi, is a rapper, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer born on July 24, 1981 and raised in New Haven, Connecticut. He's a co-founder of the label Fake Four Inc.

The solo albums

His first solo record, «Fake Flowers», came out in 2004, followed by «They Hate Francisco False» in 2006 and «The One Man Band Broke Up» in 2010, with German producer DJ Scientist. In the following years came «Broken Bone Ballads» and «Sad, Fat Luck» with Canadian producer Factor Chandelier, «Sans Soleil», «This Guitar Was Stolen Along with Years of Our Lives» and, in 2024, the two parts of «Bring Us the Head of Francisco False».

Fake Four Inc.

In 2008 Ceschi founded the label Fake Four Inc. with his brother David Ramos, and it became a reference point for independent hip hop and American folk punk.

Awards and recognition

In 2014 he won the Connecticut Music Award for best hip hop. In 2019 the video for «El Chapo», made with Jahan Nostra, won the award for best music video at the Hip Hop Film Festival in Harlem.

Prison in the songs

The promoter's presentation recalls Ceschi's past as a former inmate: an experience the musician has turned into writing material and one of the roots of the Crimewave imagery.

Sam King and Get Dead

Sam King is the singer of Get Dead, a San Francisco punk band formed in 2007 and soon noticed by Fat Mike, who signed them to his label, Fat Wreck Chords.

Get Dead's records

For Fat Wreck Chords, Get Dead released «Bad News» in 2013 and «Honesty Lives Elsewhere» in 2016, with guests from Lagwagon, toyGuitar and Old Man Markley. «Dancing With the Curse» came out in 2020.

Street punk and folk punk

Get Dead's sound moves between skate punk, street punk and folk punk: direct songs, a rough voice, sing-alongs. In Codefendants, Sam King brings exactly this, the structure of the punk song into which the rap is grafted.

The veteran

Hub Music Factory describes him as a punk rock veteran with ink-stained fists and scars from a thousand wrong roads. It's his half of the Crimewave story.

Fat Mike, the third founder

Michael John Burkett, known as Fat Mike, is the bassist and singer of NOFX, founder of the label Fat Wreck Chords and co-founder of the cover band Me First and the Gimme Gimmes. In 2021 he founded Codefendants with Ceschi and Sam King.

NOFX

Fat Mike started with the band False Alarm, then in 1983 formed the first NOFX lineup with Eric Melvin and Erik Sandin, one of the defining bands of California punk. He and Eric Melvin are the only members who stayed throughout the group's history, which ended with the farewell tour opened by Codefendants themselves.

Fat Wreck Chords and activism

With Fat Wreck Chords he has released some of the most important punk bands of recent decades. In 2004 he founded the site Punkvoter.com and organized the Rock Against Bush campaign, with a tour of American campuses and two compilations that sold more than 650,000 copies.

Theater and other projects

In 2015 he staged the musical «Home Street Home», written with Soma Snakeoil and Jeff Marx, and in 2019 he released the solo album «You're Welcome» as his character Cokie the Clown. For the two Italian dates the promoter announces the duo of Ceschi and Sam King.

Jakobs Castle, the special guest

Jakobs Castle is the project of Jakob Nowell, the only son of Bradley Nowell, frontman of Sublime, released by Epitaph Records and active since 2022.

Between the beach and the internet

The promoter describes it as the meeting of the carefree sounds of old California and the underground culture of the internet, between 1990s underground and hyperpop: a sound that is gentle and rough at once.

The American tours

Jakobs Castle has toured the United States with emerging artists like Sitting on Stacy and established names like Jason Devore, Slightly Stoopid, G. Love and Special Sauce, Common Kings and Long Beach Allstars. Among the key tracks on «Enter: The Castle» are «Time Traveler» and «Catch Me».

Punk and hip hop: why Codefendants' Crimewave works

Codefendants' Crimewave works because it brings together two traditions with the same social origin: punk and hip hop were both born as the music of people with no access to big studios, big radio stations or big stages. In the trio, each tradition has a face: Sam King for punk, Ceschi for rap.

Two different kinds of writing

Punk works with slogans and choruses, rap with long, dense verses. In Codefendants' songs the two alternate: the verse tells the story, the chorus gets sung. It's a simple formula, and it works live because it gives the audience a moment to listen and one to shout.

A tradition with precedents

The crossover between punk and rap isn't new, and Codefendants know it: they've shared the stage with hip hop veterans like Xzibit, Dilated Peoples and DJ Quik and with classic punk bands like Pennywise and Circle Jerks. What's new is the tone, more autobiographical and more ironic.

Our verdict

Of the many side projects born around NOFX, Codefendants is the most interesting because it doesn't sound like NOFX. If you go to Hacienda expecting California skate punk, you'll find something else, and you'll probably leave happy.

Hacienda Roma, the concert venue

Hacienda Roma is a multipurpose space at Via dei Cluniacensi 68, in Municipio IV, with 1,500 square meters indoors and more than 1,500 outdoors, equipped for concerts, DJ sets and events, with a bar and coat check.

The Manchester name

According to the venue's listing on the Roma Capitale portal, the name is inspired by the Fac 51 Haçienda in Manchester, the club that opened in 1982 and closed in 1997.

What the space is like

The venue has an indoor and an outdoor area. In early November the concert is held indoors, in a room designed for a standing audience: no armchairs, no numbered seats, and the distance between stage and front row is that of a club.

The calendar

In the same fall Hacienda hosts very different nights, from Frontiera Festival to the Bunny Club party and the Indie Power night. The Codefendants concert is the venue's punk night.

How to get to Hacienda Roma for the Codefendants concert

Hacienda Roma is reached from Tiburtina station, linked to Metro B and to regional and high-speed trains: the Roma Capitale portal describes the venue as easy to reach by surface transport from the station.

By Metro B

From Termini, Metro B reaches Tiburtina in a few minutes. From the station you continue by surface bus or on foot: on the map Via dei Cluniacensi is just over a kilometer away, a 15-minute walk.

By train from outside Rome

If you're coming from out of town, get off directly at Tiburtina. That's the case for many fans coming from the rest of Lazio or from Umbria for a punk date that doesn't happen in Rome every month.

By car

Hacienda has no private parking, but you can park in nearby areas. On a Thursday night you'll find a space, though rarely in front of the entrance. If you plan to drink, don't drive.

Getting back

A club concert ends late. After the metro closes there are the city's night buses, taxis or a car service with driver. Arrange your ride home before you go in: at the exit the available cars go fast.

Around Hacienda: Tiburtino, Collatino, San Lorenzo

Hacienda is in a part of east Rome far from the tourist routes and very close to Termini, among railway yards, postwar working-class neighborhoods and a nightlife that in recent years has moved toward the eastern suburbs.

San Lorenzo and the Verano

Beyond Tiburtina station are the basilica of San Lorenzo fuori le Mura and the Verano Cemetery. San Lorenzo, the university district, is the classic place to stop before a night out around here. Its gathering spots include Container San Lorenzo.

The Collatino scene

The area has an urban scene of murals and independent spaces, described on the page about Kollatino Underground. For a punk and hip hop concert it's the right setting.

A park for the afternoon

Further north, along Via Nomentana, Villa Torlonia is the nearest large historic park, if you want a walk before an evening on your feet.

Where to eat before the concert

Around Tiburtina station there are neighborhood pizzerias, rotisseries and ethnic restaurants open late. San Lorenzo, one stop away, offers a much wider choice of trattorias, pizzerias and aperitivo spots.

An early dinner

On Thursday nights the places in San Lorenzo fill up with students. Sitting down early, around 19:30, lets you eat calmly and get to Hacienda when the doors open.

At the Hacienda bar

The venue has a bar, designed more for drinking than eating. For dinner, don't count on the concert hall.

Practical tips for the night at Hacienda

A punk concert in a club is a physical evening: you stand for a long time, there's moshing in front of the stage, and you come out sweaty into the November chill. A few precautions help.

ID

Bring ID: at nightclubs age is often checked at the door, and Italian law requires you to be 18 to drink alcohol. For conditions of entry for minors, refer to Hacienda's official contacts.

Clothing

Closed, comfortable shoes, nothing fragile in your pockets, a jacket to leave at the coat check. It's hot inside, and at midnight in November it isn't outside.

Ears

Volume at a punk concert is high. Musician's earplugs, which lower the volume without distorting the sound, cost very little and are a good habit.

Accessibility

For information on access and services for people with disabilities, write in advance to info@haciendaroma.it or call 393 3873161, the contacts listed on the Roma Capitale portal.

A curious fact about Codefendants at Hacienda Roma, November 5, 2026

The nicest curiosity of the evening concerns the guest. Jakobs Castle is the project of Jakob Nowell, the only son of Bradley Nowell, singer and guitarist of Sublime. The promoter describes his sound as the meeting of carefree old California and the internet underground: another way of mixing genres, as Codefendants do with their Crimewave.

Putting the son of Sublime's frontman on the same stage as a collective born between the punk of 924 Gilman and underground hip hop makes sense beyond the lineup. It's a small family tree of genre-mixing California music, from one generation to the next.

And the son doesn't copy the father. Jakobs Castle, released by Epitaph Records, looks to hyperpop and internet culture as much as to the beaches of Southern California. At Hacienda on November 5 you'll hear two ways of being heirs to that era: one that blends it with rap and street storytelling, the other that brings it into the sound of the web.

Something nobody tells you about Codefendants at Hacienda Roma, November 5, 2026

The band's name isn't a quirk. The promoter presents the group as three people with criminal records and musical ambitions. Ceschi is described as a former inmate, Sam King as a veteran of a thousand wrong roads. In a music industry that polishes everything, Codefendants put their past on the cover.

The second thing nobody says is about the lineup. The project started with Fat Mike of NOFX, and his name is the one that grabs headlines. But the official presentation of the two Italian dates talks about the group led by Ceschi Ramos and Sam King, and says it will be the duo bringing its mix of punk, hip hop and rock back to Italy. If you're buying a ticket hoping to see the NOFX bassist on the Hacienda stage, you should know this beforehand.

Third: 924 Gilman Street, where Ceschi and Sam King met, gave its name to a whole era of Bay Area punk, the one of Operation Ivy, Green Day and Rancid. Seeing two musicians from that school in a Rome venue named after a Manchester club is one of those coincidences that make an evening interesting.

My tip for seeing Codefendants at Hacienda Roma, November 5, 2026

My advice is to arrive for the start of the concert, not for the headliners. Jakobs Castle opens the evening, and missing the special guest for one more beer in San Lorenzo would be a mistake: it's a young project, released by a historic label, and its presence is part of the point of the evening.

Second tip: listen to the two records beforehand. «This Is Crime Wave» from 2023 and «Lifers» from 2026 aren't easy to pigeonhole. The first listen throws you, the second wins you over, and at the concert, with the choruses already in your head, you sing along.

Third: check times and prices on the promoter's official page in the days before. At clubs, door times change, and a night with a guest often starts earlier than you'd think.

Finally, getting home. Hacienda is in an area well served by day and less so at night. Plan on a taxi or a car service for the trip back, or arrange a ride with someone who drives. By the end of the concert, Metro B may no longer be running.

Another well-known fact that rarely gets mentioned

Everyone knows NOFX and knows that Fat Mike was its voice and bass. Less often remembered is that his label, Fat Wreck Chords, built an important part of punk over the last 30 years, and that among the bands it discovered and signed was Sam King's Get Dead, noticed soon after they formed in San Francisco in 2007.

So Codefendants aren't a chance meeting of passing musicians: Fat Mike has known Sam King for more than 10 years, since Get Dead released «Bad News» on his label in 2013. The band was born inside a record label family.

The second well-known and rarely mentioned fact concerns activism. In 2004 Fat Mike founded Punkvoter.com and the Rock Against Bush campaign, which brought NOFX and other bands, including Green Day and Alkaline Trio, to play on American campuses. The two compilations tied to the campaign sold more than 650,000 copies. It's the same attitude found in Codefendants' lyrics: punk as a form of commitment, even before it's a music genre.

The right photo to take at Codefendants at Hacienda Roma, November 5, 2026

The right photo at a punk concert isn't of the lit stage, but of the audience. From the side of the room, a little raised if possible, a shot of the mosh pit in front of the stage with the band backlit tells the story of the evening better than any close-up.

Before going in, the Hacienda sign on Via dei Cluniacensi, with the line at the entrance and the streetlights of a November Thursday, is the evening's other image: the Rome of suburban clubs, far from the postcards.

During the concert, follow the venue's rules on photos and filming. In a small club a raised phone blocks the view of the people behind, and one well-taken photo is worth more than 10 shaky videos. And if you're in front of the stage, keep your phone in your pocket: the mosh pit is unforgiving.

On the way out, the bridge over the tracks toward Tiburtina at night, with the trains stopped and the station lights, is one last shot if you love urban photography.

Some important events that happened here

Hacienda Roma's history is young, and its oldest memory is in its name. The Fac 51 Haçienda in Manchester opened in 1982 and closed in 1997: 15 years in which it became, as the Rome venue's listing on the Roma Capitale portal notes, a hall famous for the number of concerts it hosted. The Hacienda on Via dei Cluniacensi harks back to that era.

The space's recent history can be read in its calendar. The 060608 portal lists among the events it has hosted nights and concerts of very different genres: Frontiera Festival, Salvo Di Paola's stand-up comedy, the Indie Power night, Martina Catuzzi's live show with the UOMA project, the Bunny Club party and the Digitalism concert. It's the list of a versatile venue.

As for the November 5 guests, these are the dates that count: 1983, Fat Mike founds NOFX. 2004, Rock Against Bush. 2007, Sam King's Get Dead form in San Francisco. 2008, Ceschi founds Fake Four Inc. with his brother. 2013, Get Dead's «Bad News» on Fat Wreck Chords. 2021, Codefendants form. 2022, Jakobs Castle starts playing. 2023, «This Is Crime Wave» comes out. 2025, Bay Fest. 2026, «Lifers» and the return to Italy.

Who has passed through Hacienda Roma

According to Roma Capitale's official portal, very different artists and formats have passed through Hacienda Roma. Frontiera Festival used the space for one of its events, Salvo Di Paola brought his stand-up comedy, the Indie Power night drew the Italian independent music crowd, Martina Catuzzi presented her UOMA project live, and the German electronic duo Digitalism brought their Optimism Tour.

On November 5 it's the turn of musicians who have shared the stage with big names in their careers. Codefendants opened for NOFX on the farewell tour, played with Lagwagon, Pennywise and Circle Jerks, and at Rhymefest in Los Angeles shared the stage with Xzibit, Dilated Peoples and DJ Quik. Jakobs Castle has toured the United States with Slightly Stoopid, G. Love and Special Sauce and Long Beach Allstars.

That's the real opportunity of the evening: hearing musicians used to big punk festivals in a club room, a few meters from the stage. If you've been to Rome punk nights in recent years, you know that a concert like this, in a full room, leaves its mark.

The records to hear before the concert

Codefendants have two albums, but around them there's a much larger discography made up of the members' own records.

This Is Crime Wave

The 2023 debut, recorded in Echo Park. It's the record to start with to understand the Crimewave formula.

Lifers

The second album, from 2026, the one the band is presenting on tour. More compact and confident than the first, according to the promoter's presentation.

Around the band

For Ceschi, «Broken Bone Ballads» from 2015 is a good way in. For Sam King, Get Dead's «Honesty Lives Elsewhere» from 2016. For Jakobs Castle, «Enter: The Castle», with «Time Traveler» and «Catch Me».

November in Rome, club season

In early November live music in Rome moves entirely indoors. It's club season, and the punk and rock lineup of Invincible Fest is a good example.

The weather

November evenings are cool and often rainy. Coming out of a hot club, a dry jacket makes a difference.

The other Invincible Fest concerts

Hub Music Factory's Rome program also includes Crashdïet on October 22, Gvllow on November 26 and Spike and the Gimme Gimmes, also in Rome in November and then at Magnolia in Milan. For fans of the genre, a full fall.

In closing

The question young people ask most is where to hear real music outside the center. A night like this is one answer: an American band that has shared the stage with NOFX, a guest who carries the Sublime name, a suburban club named after a Manchester legend. My advice is clear: arrive early for Jakobs Castle, stay close to the stage for Codefendants and book your ride home before you go in.
