The Valentino Bucchi International Composition Competition closes with a concert in which the works of the five finalists are performed. The Accademia Filarmonica Romana collaborates on the competition and also hosts the jury's working sessions; the Valentino Bucchi Foundation is a partner in the initiative, which aims to bring out young talent and research in art music and experimental music.
The program consists of five pieces. The audience hears «More et Impetus» by Alessandro Cozzolino, «I Limiti» by Leonardo Damiani, «Nightpiece-Notturno per Joyce» by Tiziano De Felice, «Sette Parole per tre esecutori» by Danilo Kaddouri and «Polodia» by Gabriele Mercanti.
The performers are Davide Stanzione on flute, Eugenio Emanuele on clarinet, Gloria Santarelli on violin, Rebecca Rotondi on cello and Jacopo Petrucci on piano, in different combinations from one piece to the next: De Felice's piece brings all five together, while Kaddouri's is written for flute, clarinet and violin.
