The event

The festival program presents the evening as «International Contemporary Ensemble and Nuova Consonanza in Concert»: two groups devoted to today's music sharing the same stage. The title, «D'improvviso» (Italian for «suddenly»), evokes the idea of the spontaneous, but the organizers have not published the pieces or the composers on the list.

The same day the festival offers, in the same building, the talk «Keynote Conversation: Histories and Futures», with Alvin Curran, Giancarlo Schiaffini, Alessandro Sbordoni, Tomeka Reid, and Miya Masaoka, moderated by George E. Lewis.
