Banco del Mutuo Soccorso at CrossRoads Live Club, November 7, 2026
Banco del Mutuo Soccorso plays at the CrossRoads Live Club on Saturday, November 7, 2026: doors open at 20:00, the concert starts at 22:15. The venue is in Rome, at Via Braccianese 771, in the northwest quadrant of the city (Municipio XIV). For public transport it's best to calculate the route with the trip planning service of the Roman transport company, because the area is peripheral and is reached more easily by car. The price published by the club is 28 euros plus presale fees for tickets bought in advance and 35 euros at the box office on the night of the concert, subject to availability. The hall is set up with seating at tables, but the ticket alone does not entitle you to a seat: the table is reserved separately, after buying the ticket, at the number 06 89415678 or at the address crossroadsprenotazioni@gmail.com. Tickets are bought from the event page on the official website of the CrossRoads Live Club, which links to the authorized presale circuit, or at the venue.

Banco del Mutuo Soccorso in Rome: the concert in brief
The Banco del Mutuo Soccorso concert at CrossRoads, on November 7, 2026, is the official presentation of the new single Una Storia Unica, alongside the band's great classics. The club presents it as one of the most significant dates of the season devoted to Italian progressive rock.
The new single
Una Storia Unica is a project that, according to the club's presentation, was born with the ambition of telling through music a fundamental part of the history of Italian rock. The subtitle of the evening is explicit: four paths, one unique story, and the great history of Italian progressive rock coming together again.
The guest: Luca Sparagna of Le Orme
On stage with Banco will be Luca Sparagna, a musician of Le Orme, called to represent one of the four artistic paths that gave life to the project. It is a meeting between two of the bands that the encyclopedia indicates, together with Premiata Forneria Marconi and Area, as the most representative examples of Italian progressive rock.
Times of the evening
Doors open at 20:00 and the concert begins at 22:15. A good two hours between entry and start: the CrossRoads is a venue with tables, and the typical formula is to have dinner or a drink before the show.
Tickets and tables for Banco del Mutuo Soccorso
Tickets for Banco del Mutuo Soccorso at CrossRoads cost 28 euros plus presale fees if bought in advance, 35 euros at the box office on the night of the concert, subject to availability.
The seat has to be reserved
This is the detail not to overlook. The hall is set up with seating at tables, but the club warns that buying the ticket does not entitle you to a seat. The table is reserved separately, after buying the ticket, at the number 06 89415678 or by writing to crossroadsprenotazioni@gmail.com. Reservations for seats are open from October 7, 2026.
Table reservation is free
The club specifies on its main page that table reservation is free, and that for reservations you can also call 347 1694250, from 10:00 to 21:00, or send a private message on the venue's social page.
Presale or box office
With a difference of seven euros between presale and box office, and the risk of finding the evening sold out, presale is the sensible choice. The box office remains an option for those who decide at the last minute, knowing that availability is not guaranteed.
Who Banco del Mutuo Soccorso is: the history
Banco del Mutuo Soccorso is an Italian progressive rock band founded in Rome in 1968 by the keyboardist Vittorio Nocenzi. From 1979 to 1990 it was called simply Banco. Together with Premiata Forneria Marconi, Area and Le Orme, it is the most representative and best-known example, also abroad, of progressive rock in Italy.
An audition and an invented name
The story begins in the last months of 1968, when the 17-year-old Vittorio Nocenzi gets an audition at RCA, backed by the recommendation of Gabriella Ferri, for whom he had already set some songs to music. The labels of those years were not very inclined to promote solo instrumentalists, and according to legend Nocenzi spoke of a band that did not yet exist. He had to put it together in great haste, recruiting relatives and friends, and invented the name Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, perhaps inspired by some credit or insurance institution in the area.
La Stalla di Marino
The band rehearsed in a private room in Marino, in the Castelli Romani, which became famous as the Stalla. It really was a renovated stable, with the mangers full of amplifiers and instruments instead of hay, according to Nocenzi himself. The first lineup included Vittorio and his brother Gianni on piano, Gianfranco Coletta on guitar, Fabrizio Falco on bass and Mario Achilli on drums.
The 1971 turning point and the first albums
In 1971, at the second Caracalla Pop Festival, Banco met Francesco Di Giacomo, Renato D'Angelo and Pierluigi Calderoni, the singer, bassist and drummer of Esperienze, and Marcello Todaro, guitarist of Fiori di Campo. The classic lineup was born. In 1972 the debut album came out, with a cover shaped like a terracotta piggy bank and tracks such as R.I.P., Il giardino del mago and Metamorfosi, along with Darwin!, the band's first concept album, dedicated to the theory of evolution. In 1973 came the third album, dedicated to freedom and considered by many fans and critics their best record, with Rodolfo Maltese on guitar.
Manticore and Europe
In 1974, on Greg Lake's suggestion, Banco moved to Manticore, the label of Emerson, Lake and Palmer. In 1975 Banco was released, with the best songs from the first three albums sung in English for the foreign market. In 1976 Come in un'ultima cena was promoted with a European tour opening for Gentle Giant. The English version, As in a Last Supper, was translated by Angelo Branduardi. The same year the band recorded Garofano rosso, the soundtrack of the film of the same name based on Elio Vittorini, their first instrumental album.
The 1980s and 1990s
The decade opened with the live album Capolinea and with more direct records such as Urgentissimo and Buone notizie. In 1983 Moby Dick came out, one of the band's best-known songs. In 1985 Banco took part in the Sanremo Festival with Grande Joe. In the 1990s the full name came back, Il 13 arrived in 1994, along with the Acustico project and tours in Japan, Mexico, the United States, Brazil and Panama. The live album Nudo came out of the 1997 concerts in Japan.
The losses and the rebirth
On February 21, 2014, Francesco Di Giacomo, the band's classic voice, died in a road accident in Zagarolo. On October 3, 2015, the guitarist Rodolfo Maltese died. Vittorio Nocenzi has renewed the lineup, and since 2016 Tony D'Alessio has been the singer. Then came La libertà difficile in 2017, Transiberiana in 2019 for Inside Out Music, with a nomination at the Progressive Music Awards, Orlando: le forme dell'amore in 2022, inspired by Orlando furioso, and Storie invisibili, released on February 28, 2025 and preceded by the single Il Mietitore, which closes a trilogy dedicated to human existence.
Banco's lineup today
The current lineup of Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, according to the encyclopedia, includes Vittorio Nocenzi on keyboards and vocals, Filippo Marcheggiani on guitar, Tony D'Alessio on vocals, Marco Capozi on bass, Michelangelo Nocenzi on keyboards and Andrea Bruni on drums.
Two keyboards, as at the beginning
Since 2023 Michelangelo Nocenzi, Vittorio's son, has been the second keyboardist. It is a choice that restores the two-keyboard tradition of the early years, when Vittorio and Gianni Nocenzi wove their parts together in virtuoso dialogues. For anyone who loves Banco's sound of the 1970s, it is the most important news of recent years.
The November 7 lineup
The club doesn't publish the list of musicians for the Rome evening, apart from the guest Luca Sparagna. That information is not published: the lineup given above is the band's current one.
Banco's sound: what you hear live
Banco's sound comes from the meeting of British progressive rock, Mediterranean sonorities, Italian Baroque instrumental music and the tradition of melodrama, with the keyboards at the center and lyrics of a literary kind.
The classics
The announcement promises, besides the new single, a journey through the great classics. Banco's repertoire includes songs such as R.I.P., Il giardino del mago, Metamorfosi, the themes of Darwin! and of the 1973 third album, up to Moby Dick. The setlist for the evening is not published.
An audience of all ages
Italian progressive has an audience that crosses generations: those who listened to the records in the 1970s, those who discovered them later, those who hear Banco for the first time through the recent albums. A club with tables, like the CrossRoads, is the place where these audiences sit next to one another.
The CrossRoads Live Club, the concert venue
The CrossRoads Live Club is a live music venue at Via Braccianese 771, open since 2008 and presented by the club itself as the reference point in Rome and its province for concert lovers.
A club with tables
The format is that of a live club with seating at tables, where you eat dinner or drink during the evening. Every weekend, according to the venue's own description, nationally and internationally known artists take the stage. The club's motto is stated on its home page: we feed on music and give away emotions.
The Hall of Fame
In the section devoted to the artists who have played at the venue, the club mentions the guitarist Andy Timmons, the jazz fusion guitarist Scott Henderson, the drummer Simon Phillips and the bassist and singer Richard Bona. These names point to a vocation for musicians of great technique, the same one the progressive audience appreciates.
The autumn program
The club's calendar alternates original concerts and tribute nights. In the weeks around Banco there is ZEP-SET, dedicated to Led Zeppelin, on November 6, The Elephant Man, the film concert by RanestRane, on November 13, and La Volpe with the music of Genesis from the 1970-1976 period on October 23. In spring, Voyage 35, with former Porcupine Tree musicians, and The Devon Allman Project are announced.
Private events
The CrossRoads also organizes private and corporate dinners, meetings, birthday parties, anniversaries and graduation parties, with an all-inclusive formula, staff and technical equipment.
A curiosity about Banco del Mutuo Soccorso at the CrossRoads Live Club, November 7, 2026
The best curiosity concerns the band's name, which many listeners find strange and which has an almost comic origin. In 1968 Vittorio Nocenzi, then 17, had to show up for an audition at RCA. Record labels preferred bands to soloists, and legend has it that Nocenzi had talked about a band that did not yet exist. He had to put it together in a few days, with relatives and friends able to hold an instrument, and give it a name. He chose Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, perhaps inspired by a credit or insurance institution in the area. More than 50 years later, that name invented for an audition is one of the most recognizable brands of Italian rock in the world.
The second curiosity is the cover of the first album, from 1972. It was shaped like a terracotta piggy bank, a play on the band's name. When, in 1991, Nocenzi re-recorded the first two albums from scratch with new arrangements, the first case of its kind in Italian discography, the box set Da qui messere si domina la valle was again shaped like a piggy bank.
The third is a coincidence of places. Banco was born in Rome and found its classic lineup at Caracalla, at the 1971 Pop Festival. On November 7 it returns to Rome to present a single titled Una Storia Unica, with a musician from Le Orme on stage: a story of Italian progressive that closes, or reopens, in the city where it started.
Banco and Rome: a story of places
The story of Banco del Mutuo Soccorso is intertwined with Rome and its surroundings more than that of any other Italian progressive band.
Caracalla, 1971
In 1971 Banco took part, with little luck according to the encyclopedia, in the second Caracalla Pop Festival. But it was there that the classic lineup was born, with the meeting of the musicians of Banco with those of Esperienze and Fiori di Campo. The Baths of Caracalla are therefore, in a certain sense, the birthplace of the Banco the public knows.
Villa Pamphili, 1972
From June 1 to 4, 1972, the band took part in the second edition of the Festival of Avant-Garde and New Trends Music, at Villa Pamphili, placing first, tied with Circus 2000. It is the first recognition for the new lineup, in the year of the two debut albums.
The Castelli Romani
The Stalla in Marino, the rehearsal room carved out of a real stable, is the legendary place of the origins. And in the Castelli, in Zagarolo, the life of Francesco Di Giacomo ended in 2014, the voice that made Banco recognizable all over the world.
Something nobody tells you about Banco del Mutuo Soccorso at the CrossRoads Live Club, November 7, 2026
What few people say is that the ticket alone doesn't guarantee a chair. The CrossRoads is a club set up with tables, and most of the audience spends the evening seated. But the club clearly warns that buying the ticket does not entitle you to a seat. The table is booked separately, free of charge, after buying the ticket, at 06 89415678 or by email. For a concert that starts at 22:15 and lasts as long as a Banco concert does, anyone who arrives without a reservation risks spending the evening standing, or finding a spot far from the stage.
The second thing concerns the schedule. Doors at 20:00 and a start at 22:15 are not a mistake. They are the club's formula, which leaves two hours for dinner before the music. Anyone who arrives at 22:00 for the concert finds the room already full and the tables taken by people who have had dinner. Anyone who arrives at 20:00 sits down, orders, and waits for Banco calmly.
Third, a practical point. Via Braccianese is far from the center, and late in the evening public transport thins out. With a concert that starts after 22:00, you leave the venue well past midnight. Plan your return before you leave: a shared car among friends with a driver who doesn't drink, or a taxi booked in advance.
My advice for visiting Banco del Mutuo Soccorso at the CrossRoads Live Club, November 7, 2026
My advice is to organize the evening in three steps, because at the CrossRoads the difference between a good evening and an uncomfortable one is decided beforehand. First: buy the ticket in advance, at 28 euros plus fees, instead of risking the 35 euros at the box office, with no certainty of finding a seat. Second: right afterward, call 06 89415678 or write to crossroadsprenotazioni@gmail.com to book the table, which is free but not automatic. Third: arrive when doors open, at 20:00, and have dinner at the venue, so that you are seated and relaxed when Banco takes the stage at 22:15.
Anyone who knows Banco only from the records of the 1970s should first listen to one of the recent albums, Transiberiana or Storie invisibili. The voice of Tony D'Alessio and the sound of today's lineup are different from those of Di Giacomo, and knowing what to expect helps you appreciate them for what they are. Anyone who knows only today's Banco can go back over Darwin! and the 1973 record, to recognize the classics when they arrive.
And one last piece of advice, in our view the most important: come with someone who doesn't know progressive. A club with tables, with dinner and live music, is the best setting to introduce Banco to someone who has never heard them. Seated, relaxed, without the crush of an arena.
How to get to the CrossRoads Live Club
The CrossRoads Live Club is at Via Braccianese 771, in the territory of Roma Capitale, Municipio XIV, postal code 00123, in the northwest quadrant of the city.
By car
The venue is reached along Via Braccianese. For those coming from the center it is the most practical solution, especially for the return after midnight. It's best to set the navigator to street number 771.
By public transport
The club doesn't publish directions for public transport. Anyone who wants to get around without a car has to work out the route with the trip planner of the Rome transport company, taking into account evening and holiday schedules and the fact that the concert ends very late.
By taxi
For the trip home after the concert, a taxi should be booked in advance. In an outlying area, at two in the morning, free cars don't pass by chance.
Information
For any doubt about getting there, the club's info line answers at 06 89415678 and 347 1694250, from 10 to 21. The email address for information is info@crossroadsliveclub.it.
Another well-known fact, yet rarely mentioned
It's well known that Banco del Mutuo Soccorso is one of the most important bands of Italian progressive rock. It is less often remembered how much they were appreciated abroad, and thanks to whom. In 1974 it was Greg Lake, singer and bassist of Emerson, Lake and Palmer, who proposed that the band move to Manticore, the English trio's label. In 1975 this produced an album in English for the foreign market, which was a great critical success in Italy and beyond. In 1976 Banco toured Europe opening for Gentle Giant, another cornerstone band of British progressive. In the 1990s came the tours in Japan, Mexico, the United States, Brazil and Panama.
A second known but little-told fact concerns a name of Italian singer-songwriter music. Angelo Branduardi translated the lyrics of Come in un'ultima cena into English for the version As in a Last Supper, and in 1978 he took part with Banco in the tour La Carovana del Mediterraneo. In the triple live album Concerto di Branduardi, on many tracks, the players are Banco's musicians. If you love Branduardi and are passing through Rome in these months, you can read our page on Francesco, con i testi di Aldo Cazzullo e le musiche di Angelo Branduardi.
And finally: Banco was one of the first to re-record its albums in full. For the 20th anniversary, Vittorio Nocenzi rewrote the first two records with new recordings and arrangements, an experiment that the encyclopedia identifies as the first of its kind in Italian discography.
The right photo to take at Banco del Mutuo Soccorso at the CrossRoads Live Club, November 7, 2026
The right photo, in a club with tables, is the one that tells the scale of the evening. Banco del Mutuo Soccorso has played at big festivals and on international tours. At the CrossRoads it plays a few meters from people eating dinner. A shot from the room, with the tables in the foreground, the low lights and the stage in the background with the two keyboards, says more than any close-up. It is the portrait of a historic band in an intimate place.
The best moment is the beginning, when the house lights go down and the stage lights come up. No flash, out of respect for the musicians and the people sitting next to you, and don't hold your phone up for entire songs. One photo, two at most, and then you listen to the concert. Progressive is music of details, and details get lost behind a screen.
If you want a different image, you can photograph the keyboards before the start, if they are visible from your table. The two stations of Vittorio and Michelangelo Nocenzi, father and son, are the symbol of a tradition that continues. And on the way out, after midnight, a photo of the venue's sign lit up in the dark of Via Braccianese closes the story of the evening.
Some important events that happened here in history
The history of the CrossRoads Live Club begins in 2008, as the club itself states. Since then the venue has presented itself as the reference point for live music in Rome and its province, with concerts every weekend. In almost 20 years the stage has hosted musicians such as Andy Timmons, Scott Henderson, Simon Phillips and Richard Bona, and a calendar that alternates original artists, tribute nights, film concerts and shows of other kinds.
The history that Banco brings with it on the evening of November 7 is much longer. In 1968 the RCA audition and the invented name. In 1971 the Caracalla Pop Festival and the classic lineup. In 1972 first place at the avant-garde festival at Villa Pamphili, the piggy bank album and Darwin!. In 1973 the third album. In 1974 the move to Manticore. In 1976 the European tour with Gentle Giant. In 1985 the Sanremo Festival. In 1997 the concerts in Japan. In 2003 the live album No palco for the 30th anniversary. In 2014 the death of Francesco Di Giacomo. In 2015 that of Rodolfo Maltese. In 2016 the new lineup with Tony D'Alessio. In 2019 Transiberiana. In 2022 Orlando. In 2025 Storie invisibili.
On November 7, 2026, with the presentation of Una Storia Unica and the presence of a musician from Le Orme, one more date is added to this timeline. It is the first official presentation of the single, and it takes place in Rome, the city where everything began.
Around the area and day trips
The CrossRoads is on Via Braccianese, in the northwest quadrant of Rome, an area that lends itself to turning the evening into a weekend out of town.
Lake Bracciano
If you arrive on Saturday afternoon, you can devote the day to Lake Bracciano, with the towns of Bracciano and Anguillara Sabazia, and head back toward Rome for dinner at the club.
Galeria Antica and Veio
In the northwest quadrant you also find the remains of the abandoned village of Galeria Antica and the Veio Park. They are two destinations for Sunday morning, for those who sleep in the area.
Accessibility, age and practical information
For information on the accessibility of the CrossRoads Live Club, on routes and on the layout of the tables, it's best to contact the venue at 06 89415678 or 347 1694250, from 10 to 21, when you book your table.
Age
The club doesn't state age limits for the evening. The concert starts at 22:15 and ends after midnight. For teenagers who love music it is an opportunity, for small children a difficult hour.
Eating at the club
The CrossRoads is a venue with tables and service. Dinner at the club, between doors at 20:00 and the start at 22:15, is the most convenient solution. Ask about the menu and the kitchen's prices when you book.
November
In early November the evenings outside the city are cold and often damp. A heavy jacket for arriving and for leaving at night is indispensable.
Who has passed through Banco del Mutuo Soccorso at the CrossRoads Live Club, November 7, 2026
In more than 50 years, dozens of musicians have passed through Banco del Mutuo Soccorso. The founders Vittorio and Gianni Nocenzi, Fabrizio Falco, Mario Achilli. Then Claudio Falco and Franco Pontecorvi. The classic lineup with Francesco Di Giacomo, Renato D'Angelo, Pierluigi Calderoni, Marcello Todaro, and from 1973 Rodolfo Maltese. In the following years Giovanni Colaiacomo, Karl Potter on percussion, formerly with Pino Daniele, Gabriel Amato, formerly in Aretha Franklin's band, Paolo Carta, Tiziano Ricci, Maurizio Masi, Alessandro Papotto, Filippo Marcheggiani, Nicola Di Già, Arnaldo Vacca, and in 2015 John De Leo, Maurizio Solieri and Vito Sardo. Then Augusto Zanonzini, Fabio Moresco, Dario Esposito, up to today's lineup with Tony D'Alessio, Marco Capozi, Michelangelo Nocenzi and Andrea Bruni.
And then the guests and the traveling companions. Gabriella Ferri, who pointed out the young Nocenzi to RCA. Greg Lake, who brought the band to Manticore. Gentle Giant, whose concerts Banco opened in Europe. Angelo Branduardi, translator and companion on the Carovana del Mediterraneo. And on the 2003 live album No palco, Morgan, Mauro Pagani, Federico Zampaglione, Gianni Nocenzi, Eugenio Finardi, Filippo Gatti and Branduardi again.
On the evening of November 7, at the CrossRoads, Luca Sparagna of Le Orme is added to the list. And the stage that welcomes them has seen Andy Timmons, Scott Henderson, Simon Phillips and Richard Bona go by: musicians from elsewhere, but of the same school, that of technique in the service of music.

Final advice on Banco del Mutuo Soccorso at the CrossRoads
Banco del Mutuo Soccorso at the CrossRoads is, in our view, an event to take for what it is: a historic band, born in Rome in 1968, presenting a new single in a club with tables, with a musician from Le Orme on stage and the classics on the setlist. The advice is simple and practical: ticket in advance, table booked right afterward, arrival at 20:00 with dinner at the venue, and the trip home organized before you leave. That way the evening becomes what it promises, an encounter with 50 years of Italian progressive, seated a few meters from the two keyboards of the Nocenzis, father and son, in the city where that story began.
