On Tuesday, November 10, 2026, Biblioteca Cornelia (Via Cornelia 45, 00166 Rome, Municipio XIII) hosts «Resistenza sostantivo femminile», a reading from the «We have a dream» project. Admission is free with mandatory booking on 06 45460411.
The reading, conceived for the 60th anniversary of the Liberation, moves through three eras: the Fascist period, the partisan struggle and the postwar years. The audience picks the pieces from three baskets full of text fragments, so each evening follows a different path.
The story concerns the role of women in the Resistance: women tied to Fascist ideology, socialists, striking workers, couriers, brigade commanders, ideologues, writers and intellectuals. It looks at both the influence of women on the Resistance and how the Resistance changed their identity. It is a collage of documents, songs, diaries and poems, from the rice weeders to the feminism of the 1970s, framed by a contemporary narrative.
The text is by Silvia Corsi, Sara Milanolo and Marcella Pischedda; Silvia Corsi leads the evening. The event is run by Cantieri dello Spettacolo ETS, within the «We have a dream» project (September 11 to December 5, 2026), supported by the Ministry of Culture.
