The event

The 2026 special openings are part of the «Unexpected Itineraries of Rome», the project that promotes itineraries off the traditional tourist routes, including in outlying areas of the city, marked by great natural and landscape value and by archaeological sites little known even to Romans.

The Osa-Gabii and San Vittorino itineraries lie in one of the most interesting areas of the far edge of Municipio VI, on the eastern side of the Ancient Roman Countryside, the triangle of land bounded by the consular roads Tiburtina, Prenestina and Casilina-Labicana, bordering several municipalities of the metropolitan area.

The calendar of openings continues through December; the dates within the window are November 7, 8, 14 and 15 and December 6. Groups and schools can book by email, and guided visits are booked online.

Where it takes place: Parco archeologico di Gabii

The Gabii archaeological area lies along Via Prenestina Nuova, in the eastern sector of Rome. The Gabii page covers it. The same municipality also holds the Castello di Lunghezza.
