The event

The starting point is a simple image: a stone in a pocket stays a stone, but if the pocket has a hole the story changes. From there comes a show that entrusts everything to gesture, mask and silence.

“fOrat” is part of the third week of the section for children and families of Romaeuropa Festival 2026 and is staged with the support of the Institut Ramon Llull. In the festival program a ticket costs 15 euros for adults and 10 euros for children.

Where it takes place: Mattatoio

The former slaughterhouse complex in Testaccio was built between 1888 and 1891 by Gioacchino Ersoch and is considered one of the most important industrial archaeology buildings in Rome for the modernity and originality of its structures; it is also known as the former Macro Testaccio. It includes the Padiglioni and La Pelanda.
