The event
«Crociera nel Cosmo» is a journey through space and time with live exploration of deep-sky wonders. Under the planetarium dome the audience first finds its bearings among the stars of the moment, then moves on to star clusters, galaxies and nebulae.
The images are captured in real time with the instruments of the Virtual Telescope Project run by Gianluca Masi, whose telescopes are at Manciano, in the province of Grosseto, and are projected onto the dome. In bad weather the show continues with archive images.
Where it takes place: Planetario di Roma
Planetario di Roma is set in a large hall inside the Museo della Civiltà Romana. Its dome measures 14 meters and the hall seats 98, making it one of the largest planetariums in Italy. For the neighborhood, see the guides to EUR and its history.
