Official presentation of Cnosso

«una rilettura del mito del Minotauro in una prospettiva intima e contemporanea»

Text from the official Cultura Roma Capitale page (service translation: “a rereading of the myth of the Minotaur from an intimate and contemporary perspective”), source

According to the official presentation, «Cnosso» offers a rereading of the myth of the Minotaur in an intimate, contemporary key. The figure that appears on stage is no longer monstrous but fragile and marginalized, and it reflects the broken identities of our time.

The distinctive element is the «Teatro di Luce» (“Theater of Light”) of Malombra, a handmade, analog technique that joins shadow theater and cinematic language. With scale models, moving light sources and images in constant metamorphosis, the company builds three-dimensional landscapes in constant transformation.
