A comedy born in London

Che disastro di commedia is the Italian title of The Play That Goes Wrong, written by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields, the authors who founded the company Mischief Theatre. It debuted in 2012 at the Old Red Lion Theatre in London, a small theater above a pub, and in 2015 the text won the Laurence Olivier Award for best comedy.

The plot stages an amateur company wrestling with a whodunit set in the 1920s: the set gives way piece by piece, the actors forget their lines, the doors won't open and objects disappear. The Italian version debuted in December 2016 at Teatro Greco in Rome, directed by Mark Bell.

The program published by the theater for February and March 2027 does not specify production and cast for this edition: until an update, title, venue, dates and prices are the certain facts.

Where it takes place: Nuovo Teatro Orione

Nuovo Teatro Orione was born in the early 1950s and from the start positioned itself as a cultural landmark for the capital. In its first decade the program was packed with opera and operetta, with great dance evenings starring the dancer Ivana Gattei.

The hall has 980 seats according to the theater's website, which also lists 548 seats in the orchestra and 428 in the gallery and describes itself as the fourth-largest theater in Rome by capacity. A page dedicated to the venue can be found at Nuovo Teatro Orione.

In the same program appear, among others, Lo schiaccianoci and Da quei ragazzi, two events in December 2026.
