The LOA Acrobax, Laboratorio Occupato Autogestito, is the social center that since November 2002 has occupied the former dog racing track at Via della Vasca Navale 6, in the Marconi-Ostiense quadrant, on the right bank of the Tiber next to the Roma Tre faculties. It hosts a people's gym, a rugby team, a rehearsal room with a recording studio, assemblies, reggae and dancehall concerts, clubbing nights and the anti-fascist festival Renoize. Entry changes from event to event. Open days are by donation, the promoters' nights have a ticket. The operator doesn't publish entry conditions valid all year round.

The space is an occupation and its future is uncertain. Since 2016 it has been on the list of evictions deemed urgent by the Viminale, and in spring 2026 the threat came back into the news. Public events have nonetheless continued: the Renoize in September, the scheduled nights in October.
Data checked on October 16, 2026 on DINAMOpress, Cara Garbatella, La Capitale, Radiosonar and the city's cultural listings.

What LOA Acrobax is and what you hear
The project was born as the Acrobax project. Today, according to DINAMOpress, it includes a rugby team with more than 100 members that trains on the field behind the building (the All Reds, also cited by the Zero guide), a gym with boxing, kickboxing, gymnastics and yoga classes for adults and young people, and hundreds of assemblies a year among collectives. La Capitale also mentions a help desk for the right to housing and social support activities.
On the music side, the heart is the rehearsal room and recording studio Renoize Project, named after Renato Biagetti. The hall alternates reggae and dancehall concerts (on November 8, 2025 the Cimarons played with Mario Dread and Radio Torre) and clubbing nights by outside promoters. On the calendar are Buon Compleanno Popolare on October 17 and the Borghetta Stile 90's Halloween Party on October 31, 2026.
Our contrarian view: Acrobax is almost always talked about for the news on evictions or for the most crowded parties. In our judgment that's a partial way of looking at it, because the most solid part of the project is people's sport, with the rugby and the gym that go on beyond the individual nights.
A curiosity about LOA Acrobax
The dog track wasn't always at Ponte Marconi. As DINAMOpress reconstructs, dog racing in Rome was born in the 1920s at the Rondinella, in Flaminio, and the facility was moved to the Vasca Navale in view of the 1960 Olympics. In 2002 the company that ran it closed down and in November of the same year the collective occupied the abandoned structure. The cartoonist Zerocalcare, in a video released in April 2026 and picked up by La Capitale, said he was present on the day of the occupation.
Something nobody tells you about LOA Acrobax
The best-attended clubbing nights aren't organized by the collective but by promoters such as Borghetta Stile, with their own tickets and hours. To know when you get in and how much you pay, follow their channels. Open-door days such as Acrobax Città Aperta, held on March 28 and 29, 2026, work instead by donation, with workshops, games, sports, food and music designed for all ages.
Upcoming events at LOA Acrobax
On our site there are no listings yet dedicated to Acrobax's nights. For the updated calendar, the reference is the official Instagram profile loa_acrobax, together with the channels of the promoters who organize the individual nights. The city's cultural listings note Borghetta Stile's Halloween party for October 31, 2026.
How do you get to LOA Acrobax?
The collective doesn't publish official directions for buses, the metro or parking. The entrance is at number 6 on Via della Vasca Navale, on the right bank of the Tiber, next to the faculties and student residences of Roma Tre. To get there by public transportation, use the ATAC route planner, entering the address as your destination.
My advice for LOA Acrobax
My advice is to come the first time on an open day or during the Renoize, when the space opens to the public with workshops, sports, meetings and music. During the Renoize nights people dance until late. Before heading out, always check the official profile, because the programming also depends on the situation of the space, which in 2026 returned to the eviction list.
The neighborhood around: Marconi and Ostiense
Via della Vasca Navale runs along the right bank of the Tiber, between the Roma Tre university buildings and the student residences, in the quadrant that joins Marconi and Ostiense. The 2026 Renoize program included on September 5 a march from Porta San Paolo to Via della Vasca Navale. For a walk in the area there is our guide Ostiense, what to see, with its street art works.

What is the Renoize?
It's the political and cultural anti-fascist festival dedicated to Renato Biagetti, a 26-year-old sound technician killed at Focene in 2006. The 2026 edition, the 20th, was held for the first time at Acrobax instead of Parco Schuster, with meetings on September 3 and 4 and the march on September 5.
