Weekend Martyr formed in Livorno in 2019, when Riccardo Prianti (guitar and vocals) and Elia Lazzerini (drums) began playing together. Live, the band is a trio, with Matteo Scateni on bass. The club places them in its garage and blues strand and describes their sound as a raw, visceral mix of blues, psychedelia, punk, post-punk, twisted rock and freak folk, with dark atmospheres, hypnotic rhythms and a minimal, tribal approach.
In Rome they bring «Cruel House», their latest album, which follows «Gastrin» from 2024. Cruel Records, the label the band founded with a do-it-yourself approach, has released a good part of their output.
The club occupies a building at via del Mandrione 3 wedged between two railway lines, under the Casilina bridge, so trains pass over the rooms. Before it became a club, the space housed a blacksmith's workshop. More details are on the 30 Formiche page.
