Text from the official Cultura Roma Capitale page (service translation: “the pursuit of women's freedom”), source
«Storie di magia amore e libertà» lines up different stories, distant in place and time, that tell of the pursuit of women's freedom in a delicate yet powerful way.
The presentation names four of them: «Galvano e l'orrenda dama», from the Spanish oral tradition and described as surprisingly relevant today, and «La monaca e la badessa», from Giovanni Boccaccio's Decameron, about a young nun who dares to break the rules.
The other two are «L'anello», set in Rome in the 1950s, and «La crema di Azazello», from «Il Maestro e Margherita» (The Master and Margarita) by Mikhail Bulgakov, about the heroine's transformation into a witch.
The reading is curated by Michela Cesaretti Salvi. It is part of the series «We Have a Dream», offered by Cantieri dello Spettacolo E.T.S. as part of «Lo spettacolo dal vivo fuori dal Centro 2026», a notice from Roma Capitale supported by the Ministry of Culture.
To take part you must book. The official presentation does not publish a contact, so ask the library or the organizers how to reserve a seat.
Biblioteca Cornelia is at Via Cornelia 45, in Municipio XIII. The presentation explains how to get there by public transport: Metro line A, Cornelia station, and bus lines 46, 49, 246, 246P, 247, 980, 981 and 983.
