Omasta inhabit the territory where jazz meets beat culture, turning the lesson of J Dilla and Madlib into living, instrumental material. Their sound is warm and enveloping: deep bass and drums with an oblique groove build dense textures, over which piano, trumpet, sax and flute draw suspended melodies, at times intimate and hypnotic, at times swept by sudden accelerations. Between jazz-funk, hip hop and neo-soul, the Kraków quintet goes beyond a simple mixing of genres: the logic of sampling, looping and repetition becomes an attitude, recreated through interplay and improvisation. The result is physical, cinematic music, able to keep both the freedom of jazz and the pulse of hip hop. The atmospheres move between metropolitan tension and nocturnal rarefaction, between meditative passages and incisive grooves, with writing that leaves room for dialogue between the instruments. On their debut album Jazz Report from the Hood, released by Astigmatic Records, tradition and contemporary languages coexist without nostalgia: a restless, personal jazz, immersed in the present and shot through with the rhythm, the sounds and the anxieties of the city.

The concert venue is a former movie theater converted into a live music club, which the Alcazar Live website places in Trastevere. Next to the hall, the club runs a restaurant, and on weekends it also hosts a market, Mərkat. An introduction to the club is on its dedicated page. In December, on the same stage, Apollo Brown and Skyzoo are expected.
