Una specie di Pinocchio di marmo» (Brat: A Kind of Marble Pinocchio), an animated radio drama by Sacchi di Sabbia recommended for ages 7 and up.

Updated November 6, 2026.
Marmocchio «was» a little boy of marble. A quarryman made him for fun one day when he happened to have a fine piece of calacatta in his hands. Perhaps because of the heavy pickaxe blows he took to come into the world, this little boy turned out as hard and nasty as could be.
The tale is presented as an animated radio drama for young people of all ages: a Pinocchio of marble instead of wood, who among other things has also taken over the plot and characters of Collodi's «Pinocchio», only much worse. Why «was», this Marmocchio? Because he is no more: perhaps he died, perhaps he grew up, perhaps he became good. In this show, the authors warn, there is no moral or, if there is one, it sleeps soundly.
Scenic design and direction are by Sacchi di Sabbia; on stage is Serena Guardone, with the voices of Gabriele Carli, Giulia Gallo, Giovanni Guerrieri, Enzo Illiano, Carlo Ipata, Federico Polacci, Giulia Solano and Daniele Tarini. The show is in Italian.
The name was chosen by Mario Martone, then artistic director: India, like Argentina, is the name of a country. Inside a red-brick building the seats are in red velvet, and outside there is a space overlooking the Gazometro where open-air shows are held. Nearby: Garbatella and the Museo della Via Ostiense.
From age 7.
