"They are unscrupulous politicians, they are tech titans. Almost everywhere they have swept away the old political class. Faced with them, the traditional elites, once strong in rules and institutions, find themselves disoriented, unable to resist. There's no doubt, the hour of the predators has struck."
From this interesting and sharp pamphlet by Giuliano Da Empoli I believe it's necessary to offer a reading for two voices which, chasing each other, can describe the crises of democracies.
Many of us are still unaware of the power of new technologies and convinced that political rationality can be enough to contain the power of AI, while the latest international scenarios outline new strategies of Power. Da Empoli helps us understand their trajectories. Piero Maccarinelli.

Text from the official Teatro di Roma website, translated from Italian, source
La Pelanda is one of the buildings of the Mattatoio, in the Testaccio neighborhood. The Mattatoio website describes it with a large nave, a truncated-cone chimney and other metal fixtures, in a complex renovated as an open, modular system the public can walk through entirely, with large glazed surfaces.
According to the same website, La Pelanda's spaces suit the languages of performance, from dance to experimental theater, from music to installation, as well as workshops and production residencies. Other events hosted by the complex include Batu Artefactos Bascos and Il salto di Nureyev.
L'ora dei predatori comes from a Teatro di Roma project made with Romaeuropa Festival 2026: the festival as a whole is covered on the festival page, while another title linked to Teatro di Roma is Witch Is.
