The starting point is a long friendship: 10 years after being best man at a couple's wedding, the main character takes the two spouses to court to stop their separation. The others, relatives and acquaintances, accept the end of the marriage with resignation, but he refuses to stand by, convinced that the signature he gave back then still binds him.

The trial thus becomes a battleground where principles, arguments and paradoxes count, with an outcome the presentation calls surreal and dramatic at the same time. When the case seems to come down to a question of consistency and responsibility, the man has to reveal the most intimate reason for his action, and this changes the meaning of the whole story.

«La firma» runs 60 minutes and is produced by BAM teatro. It's part of the Teatro di Roma's 2026-2027 season, titled «Il teatro è vita», and the venue lists it as an accessible event.

Where it takes place: Teatro India

Teatro India was born in the area of the former Mira Lanza factory, on the banks of the Tiber, in the Ostiense neighborhood. As the Teatro di Roma website explains, part of the industrial complex was bought by the City in 1999 and turned into the Foundation's second venue, after Teatro Argentina.

Today the exposed-brick building has three halls with modular spaces, designed for contemporary stage languages. At the same venue, in the preceding days, Viaggio a Hong Kong with Sandro Lombardi is on stage, and in the same Ostiense neighborhood, at Spazio Rossellini, Qualcuno, nessuno, centomila is scheduled.
