The event
The show starts from a dramaturgical adaptation and rewriting by Marco Lorenzi and Lorenzo De Iacovo after William Shakespeare. It is a project born to investigate the relationship between power, the individual and the fragility of democratic systems in our time, and to engage the audience emotionally in one of the most famous conspiracies in history.
The twofold aim is to take on one of Shakespeare's most powerful texts with radicalism and to use the story of Brutus, Cassius, Antony and the collapse of the Roman Republic to question the present. Cassius says to Brutus: «The fault is not in our stars, but in ourselves».
The project is by Il Mulino di Amleto and A.M.A. Factory, directed by Marco Lorenzi. On stage are Vittorio Camarota, Yuri D'Agostino, Raffaele Musella, Rebecca Rossetti, Francesco Sabatino and Angelo Tronca; on video Ida Marinelli and Danilo Nigrelli. It is co-produced with La Fabbrica dell'Attore, Teatro Vascello.
Where it takes place: Teatro Vascello
The Vascello keeps the name of the movie theater that occupied the building until 1989; in 1995 the entrance, atrium and foyer were refurbished. The hall can change layout and has a 400-seat tiered bank.
