On the CENTENARY OF THE DEATH of Eduardo Scarpetta (November 29, 1925)
Il medico dei pazzi is one of Eduardo Scarpetta's funniest farces, a perfect machine of misunderstanding. Written in 1908, it tells the misadventure of Don Felice Sciosciammocca, a wealthy landowner, a bit ignorant, very naive and hopelessly provincial, who for years has been paying for the studies of his nephew Ciccillo, convinced that he has graduated in medicine and runs a prestigious asylum. Too bad Ciccillo, instead of studying, has squandered everything on fun and gambling, piling up debts and creditors.

Teatro Tor Bella Monaca is in the complex housing the Municipio VI offices, on Via Bruno Cirino. Sala Grande, where Scarpetta's comedy is staged, has a proscenium 9 meters wide and 4.80 high and over 280 seats. Sala Piccola has 98. Since 2013 the theater has belonged to the network now called Teatri in Comune, together with Quarticciolo, Lido di Ostia and Villa Pamphilj.
The audience gets there on metro line A to Anagnina or metro line C to Torre Angela, then bus 20 to the Cambellotti stop. The box office answers at 06 2010579 and at promozione@teatrotorbellamonaca.it. Other shows this season have been Suore fuori controllo and D'amore, ecco di cosa parliamo.
