Text from the official Cultura Roma Capitale page (service translation: “Miles Davis 100 years after his birth”), source
November 14 at Garbatella Jazz Winter has no concerts. The first event is a jazz lesson led by Luigi Onori, who retraces the figure of Miles Davis in the centenary of his birth. The second is the viewing of «100 Miles», a Tg1 special curated by Paolo Sommaruga, Francesco Cristino and Caterina Proietti.
The lesson and the film belong to Garbatella Jazz Winter 2026, the winter edition of the Garbatella Jazz Festival, designed for the twentieth anniversary of the event. The overall program, from November 13 to 15, brings together concerts, debates and music workshops.
The initiative is promoted and supported by Roma Capitale, Assessorato alla Cultura, in collaboration with Zètema Progetto Cultura, and is produced by the association Cara Garbatella. The organizers warn that the program may change.
The Villetta Social Lab is one of the spaces in Garbatella that host the festival, on Via degli Armatori, in the area of Municipio VIII. To get there, the presentation points to Metro line B, Garbatella exit, and bus line 715.
The festival does not end at this venue. On November 13 the concert of the MBIZO quartet takes place at the theater on Via Genocchi, described in the page on Garbatella Jazz Winter at Teatro Mongiovino. The day after, on November 15, the same Villetta hosts the concert of Daniele Corvasce Gipsy Jazz Quartet.
At the Villetta Social Lab there is a jazz lesson and a film screening. The concerts are on the other days of the festival.
The lesson is by Luigi Onori and takes its cue from the centenary of the trumpeter's birth.
It is «100 Miles», a Tg1 special curated by Paolo Sommaruga, Francesco Cristino and Caterina Proietti.
Admission is free until seats run out.
Take Metro B to the Garbatella station and then bus 715, as the organizers indicate.
