The event: emer at Nubes, between ambient and dub echoes

The name to follow is emer, the project of Marija Rasa. Of Lithuanian origin, she graduated from the Institute of Sonology in The Hague, in the Netherlands, and is now based in Brussels. Her music, as the critic who follows her has written, remains wrapped in the cold mists of the Baltic even far from Lithuania.

Under the name emer she released her debut album “Fog” in 2025 on the label Short Span: seven solitary tracks moving between ambient and dub echoes. In 2026 came a second title, “You And Me,” on the Belgian label Stroom, made together with fellow Lithuanian Ugne Vyliaudaite. Here the voices grow warmer and the compositional textures more intricate, and the sound slides between pop and R&B.

The night belongs to the Nubes series, which already had an event at Esc on October 17, 2026. The program is completed by sets from Portamento and Bluemarina.

Where it takes place: Esc Atelier Occupato in San Lorenzo

Esc Atelier Occupato, also called Esc Atelier Autogestito, is a self-managed social space in San Lorenzo, at Via dei Volsci 159. The name is an acronym: Eccedi, Sottrai, Crea (Exceed, Subtract, Create). The space began in 2004 on another street in the neighborhood, and the Roman press describes it as a historic center run by activists and university collectives, focused on alternative knowledge, precarious work and immigration.

Besides public assemblies, help desks for migrants and precarious workers, book presentations and independent publishing festivals, it has hosted a live music series since this autumn.
