Updated November 3, 2026.
«Organum Multiplum» is a festival of contemporary music for organ, promoted by Villa Lontana and conceived as a sonic and spiritual journey across Rome. It is in its second edition. The program of this edition names Ellen Arkbro, James McVinnie and Tristan Perich, Heinali and Andriana-Yaroslava Saienko with Hampus Lindwall, Steve Reich and Sollmann Sprenger.
Ellen Arkbro also opened the first edition, in November 2025, with the inaugural concert in the basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri. Each concert of the festival is designed for the place that hosts it: the organ engages with the architecture and with the performers' own research.
The basilica stands on the Celian Hill, in Piazza di San Giovanni in Laterano, and is the cathedral of Rome. It can be reached by metro line A, San Giovanni station. Entry to the basilica is free during its opening hours. To learn more, read the Basilica of San Giovanni in Laterano page and the guide to the Celian Hill.
