The theater on Via delle Fornaci owes its name to Ileana Ghione, the actress who founded it, ran it and often performed on its stage, and who died on December 3, 2005. In the hall, the website reports, there is always a Steinway D274, a concert grand piano that no other theater in Rome keeps permanently. There are 465 seats, divided between the orchestra and the gallery, and the gallery can only be reached by stairs. The neighborhood is the one right next to Vatican City, and the other shows on the program are on our page on the Ghione.
The theater hasn't published the names yet: they are the pianists who stood out in the 35th edition of the competition.
Maestro Filippo Manci, leading the Orchestra del Concorso Pianistico Internazionale "Roma".
The official page names Marcella Crudeli as founder and artistic director.
15 euros, a single price for the orchestra and the gallery.
