The play tells the story of type 1 diabetes from the point of view of a mother who learns of the diagnosis, and widens its gaze to the fears and difficulties of the whole family. Its register alternates moments of strong emotional tension with ironic and symbolic sequences.
Among the characters on stage are Diabetes and Insulin, personified as two figures tied by a conflicted and inseparable relationship.
Teatro De' Servi, at Via del Mortaro 22, near the Trevi Fountain, was built in 1950 in the garden of the convent next to the parish of Santa Maria in Via and opened on April 26, 1957 with a company led by Eduardo De Filippo, who staged “De Pretore Vincenzo.” Since July 2002 it has been run by the company La Bilancia. For the area there is the guide to the Trevi district; other shows at the theater include Due cuori in chat and Baz Outsider.
