The event

Ruggero Cappuccio's direction builds a suspended, timeless space, a borderland inhabited by female presences that are enigmatic only in appearance, crossed by a subtle, restless sensuality. In this setting a game of revelations unfolds that dismantles the most conventional image of Giacomo Casanova.

The myth of the seducer gives way to a man of extraordinary modernity: a writer able to listen, to welcome the other without possession or jealousy, drawn to free women who are aware of their own desire and autonomy. What emerges is a portrait far from stereotypes, in which eros becomes knowledge, dialogue and the possibility of encounter.

In the solitude of the castle of Dux, among memories, ghosts and sudden confessions, the encounter with the female world generates tenderness and self-irony. Alongside Claudio Di Palma are Emanuele Zappariello, Francesca Cercola, Viviana Curcio, Eleonora Fardella, Claudia Moroni, Gaia Piatti and Estelle Maria Presciutti; the women's voices are by Sonia Bergamasco, the aerialists are Maria Anzivino, Sara Lupoli, Marianna Moccia and Viola Russo, with aerial choreography by the company FUNA. The show is in Italian.

Where it takes place: Teatro Valle

The horseshoe-shaped hall of the Valle saw the debut of Rossini's «La Cenerentola» in 1817. Today the theater, at number 21 of the street that bears its name, belongs to the Fondazione Teatro di Roma. Nearby are Piazza Navona and Sant'Andrea della Valle.
