An immersive audio-guided performance suited to sighted, low-vision and blind audiences, which uses the deprivation of sight in a symbolic but also very concrete way. […]
The show, rewritten in a contemporary key in both setting and themes, throws the spectator into a dark environment in which the only guides are sounds, words and smells.

The plot starts from «I Ciechi» (The Blind) by Maurice Maeterlinck, a text from 1891 with gothic atmospheres. A group of blind people lost on an island is deprived of the guidance of the elderly priest, the only one who can see, who had led them there. The characters are forced to face their own loneliness and fragility.
According to the official page, «Buio» is an immersive, multisensory show designed for about 25 people at a time. At the entrance, each spectator receives a blindfold and a wireless headset through which they hear the entire show.
Because the audience is about 25 people at a time, the evening is split into two sessions, the first at 6 p.m. and the second at 9 p.m., as indicated in the official text.
The dramaturgy is by Chiara Boscaro and Marco Di Stefano, directed by Di Stefano, and rewrites «I Ciechi» in a contemporary key. The voices are Giulio Forges Davanzati, Alessia Sorbello, Andrea Trovato, Grazia Maria La Ferla and Francesca Astrei. Roberto Picerni did the editing and sound design, and Mauro Pala is the sound technician.
The production received a contribution from Regione Lazio for Lo Spettacolo dal Vivo 2026.
For this performance the theater uses the Sala Piccola, the more intimate of its two halls. The Teatri in Comune website lists 98 seats for the small hall and 282 for the large one, with a rehearsal room completing the spaces.
Teatro Tor Bella Monaca opened on December 9, 2005 and since February 2013 has been part of the Casa dei teatri e della Drammaturgia Contemporanea system run by Zètema Progetto Cultura. Another title in the program is Favola sismica by Matteo Caniglia (November 3 and 4, 2026), which comes before this date. The venue's calendar also includes Psichedelico by Manuele Morgese (October 27 and 28, 2026).
