Text from the official Teatro Italia website, show page, source
The official description is short: music, emotion and wonder serving the story of Santa Claus's life, in a form the theater calls a theatrical concert and the title calls a musical. The page doesn't say what age group it's aimed at or how long it lasts: if you want to plan the day, perhaps with children, it's a good idea to ask the theater for confirmation before buying.
The theater space on Via Bari has its roots in the experience of the Dopolavoro Ferroviario, the railway workers' recreational club, an identity that, as the website stresses, can still be read in the architectural lines of the facade. The theater still works with the Associazione Nazionale DLF. On show days the foyer and the bar are open to the public before the start, during the intermission and at the end. Among the partnerships listed is one with the Tuscan restaurant Dai Toscani, a few steps from the hall. For other holiday-season ideas in the city there's our guide to Christmas in Rome, and for younger children you can also look at Un magico Natale con Carolina Benvenga at Teatro Brancaccio.
